Smelling the fumes from the empty cartridges. After smoking the clays.

How lucky I am to be shooting the best gun in the world and sometimes hitting what it's pointing at.

My Chameau wellies.

My Mrs for putting up with me.

smelling cartridge cases .... I find the plastic case ones a bit harsh, you can't beat the smell that comes from a paper case eley impax in the cold evening air when pigeon shooting

Feeling the slightly damp, but warm, glow from my Labrador (you know, when they look like they're steaming!) when he cuddles up to me in the back of my truck after a good days picking up, with that look in his eye that says "Thanks Dad, I really had some fun today"

Also returning late from a clay shoot, having waited for all the things mentioned on here that hold up proceedings, and finding that my dinner isn't in the dog!

You see, I love my wife too!!

I will give it some thought.

edit

thought of something. When my cocker obeys a turn whistle and when I receive a perfect sat delivery.

when she eventually calms down and goes to sleep on me. (the dog not the wife)

Hitting the last pair. The night before and the drive up to the shoot. Bumping into happy people. Getting past 89. Hitting all the easy ones. Watching K80's miss the last pair.

ooh can I have another go...

a very good first barrell kill on a fast low right hand OT target, that always makes me smile.

I love listening to all the excuses ,

its too easy , it's too hard , if you'd have the sh*t I missed , I hit all the hard ones , did you see that little song bird , my gun didn't fire properly , etc

its a great community clay shooting full of wonderful characters some good some bad and some ugly but we wouldn't change what we do !!

Love breaking clays as well - although sometimes not enough.

I like the very 'zen' feeling of shooting a good peg/stand - when all of my thoughts focused on breaking clays rather than the various things that can go wrong.

that moment you know that your "in the zone" and your so confident that you just don't miss.

then the elated feeling you get for the rest of the day.

When Wonko rips the sh*t out of my HPX post and doesn't get a single like!

Just another example of the warmth, understanding, and love that I receive from every member of the shooting community even when I point out how incredibly ignorant or naive they may be.

That's what I love!

I've noted other places that I understand that Krieghoff is being sued for producing a gun too ugly to be seen with in public.  Pass it along.

I love

The smell you get on a hot summers day just after it has been raining

The smell of freshly cut  grass

The smell of GRP resin ( probably not good for you)

and a good country pub to go to after a good days shooting

As steve said i love the community we are part of,but mostly i love winning when it occasionally hapens.

Remembering everything i needed to pack for a days shooting

:santa:
