Not sure if this has been answered before?

My local shooting club is approx 4 miles from my workplace - closer than my home address.

My workplace has got gun cabinets and a store room (bomb store for keeping pyrotechnics)

On some occasions after a shoot I'm thinking of going straight into work and putting my gun in a gun cabinet. Work my shift then take it home with me.

Would this be OK?

Depends on who has access to the guncabinets, if you were to have the only keys for the period it were in there you should be ok, if non certificate holders have access then no.

I travel a lot and if I have to leave my gun anywhere I always try and break it down and leave different bits in different places...

You can get a security wire to thread through and attach to a bracket for added security in the boot and the fore end often stays in my handbag...

You just have yo be careful that all three bits aren't together and that you have taken all possible steps to keep them safe.

I must admit I always thought car was pretty safe and safer than under my desk at work.

Also might be obvious but always have your SGC with you in case you need it...

Cheers folks.

Yes I will be the only with the keys whilst the gun is inside it.

Definitely safer than in my car whilst at work, it's not a great area ;)

+1

With the regulations surrounding pyrotechnics I would assume that public access is restricted anyway, so you have two levels of security there. Good stuff!

Newbie question I know, but if I was to get a cable lock fitted to my car boot area:

1. I guess you thread the cable through the trigger guard? No where else surely?

2. Would you weld a bracket to your car to fit this lock cable to?

Through the barrels is possible....

My golf has got brackets in the boot already that I utilise...
