Simulated Game day for 16 guns.
I promise I have absolutely no vested interest when writing this review, knowing only three or four of the other guns before the day, and never having been to Raisthorpe Manor before.
Absolutely fantastic day out. Definitely blazing barrels.
Two drives in the grouse butts first of all, getting through about 150-200 cartridges each. Superb food and drink for elevenses, then on to two high drives, with really testing clays. There was so much shooting that my wood was getting almost too hot to hold !
Back for an absolutely magnificent lunch, with all of the guns getting on famously, and then a team competition of four guns each, with two very high 100 bird drives. Scores of 179, 162, 157, and 128 said a lot about the skill of the guns, as these were high and testing clays.
One of the best days I've had with a shotgun, and the whole set up is an absolute credit to David and Julia Medforth, who were just the best hosts that you could imagine.
Fair play to Simon Dunn for organising the day too.
