Just purchased a Caesar Guerini game model, with the butt pad is in matching wood.

I would like to convert it to a cushioned type, having rmoved the two screws, it seems the wood is ""stuck" on.

Could this be glued, or am i being too cautious , as i don`t want to mark the stock by trying to prise it off.

Anyone had a similar situation?

It may just be the oil finish that's holding it tight, acting like a glue between the two pieces of wood. Try tapping the butt with something that will not mark the wood

Edit: it has to be removable to access the stock bolt

It's probably just the stock oil holding the pad on as CGs come with oil applied to the bare wood under the pad. Glued on pads are unusual and the only maker I know who do it is Perazzi - or at least they used to.

A bit of gentle persuasion should take care of it. 💪
