When we were recently in south of france we saw a very cool car that was obviously new but was made to look like a 60s retro job, soft top off white colour we over heard a French bloke utter the words "se Porsche" although I dint see a badge but certainly looked like a Porsche styled thing but I think it had a different name. Anyway out of curiosity much bingling etc has been done but I can find nothing.

Anyone any idea what it was likely to be, not a lot to go on I know.

Strangely mrs ips loves the 2cv, yes I know bloody weirdo she is.

Anyway no mate wasn't one of them and its really bugging me.

Actually I've seen something like that around town.. will follow next time and get more details :spiteful:

This is what you want IPS!

Well done Simon I think that was it. Very cool looking was being driven on road between nice and monte carlo looked stunning and I would never have thought it was a kit car.

Cheers been trying to find out what it was for the last month. ;)

Found em and no mate there all modern looking this was cool 60s chic jobbie.

P's

after over kill on Ferrari and lambo and stuff I don't even know or could pronounce this little baby was a refreshing change. Seems every tom dick and Harry has a Ferrari in South of France. It's cool to be different.

just saying.

Cheers EVO but doesn't look like any of them. Simon s looks favourite so far but I could be wrong but seem to remember it had a porsche reference but name could have begun with a C.

Chesil

now that could also have been it. I guess I will never know for sure. Could it have been a full restoration of the original speedster I wonder, paint work was defo brand new. ?

I guessing it was one of these (356 Speedster with Purdey)

But could have been one of these (a 550 Spyder) :)

Didn't you take a picture man?

Wish I had but was being squashed by some rather nice french ladies on a bus at the time. Bus journeys are excellent in the cote De azzure. Ooh la la

Why so sure it was new? You get some amazing restorations these days, so it might have been an original... There is/was a garage somewhere near Tower Bridge that specialised in them. Mrs BTC has lusted after one for ages; currently making do with a Fiat500...

Yes true it could have been good restoration I just got the impression it was new.
