We see the top trap shooters hitting 25 first barrel hits regularly and very often several rounds on the trot. So when a top shooter has shot say three straight 25 and then on the fourth round misses hit last target is there not a good chance he put the gun on target but was unlucky because the pattern of that particular cartridge let him down? Or to put it another way how often would the cartridge be the cause of a miss.

I've always found it to be the person behind the equipment rather than the equipment itself.

Even the most innocuous or mundane of thought for even a fraction of a second before you call/during setup can dramatically alter your concentration to the point where although you feel you were ready for the shot and "on target" you simply were still distracted as you had broken your concentration.

Obviously it was a NO bird! cos when he/she  misses a target its always a NO bird according to him/her!

I know it was a heavy question but the possibilities do exist for a clay to fly straight through a shotgun pattern however slim.

Got that's a deep question !!!
Why it is pretty straight forward. The question when boiled down is basically even if you have a shot theoretically on target the clay fly through the shot cloud, if it can what are the possibilities of it happening? Some have given their take.

John I would have no idea as to the chances of that happening. You would need the help of a shell specialist and a mathematician on that one mate! You would be looking a probability theories and the like, all very involved stuff. :fie:

Maybe over the bunker with a skeet choke.  Otherwise - - no.  If you even think "maybe" you may as well quit right now cuz you're doomed to wonder if this next shot is the one that'll ............................

If I could get my brainfarts down to the level of targets getting thru a pattern, I'd be King Of The World!!

just saying ...........
