If there is any interest I would be more than happy to run a have a go day run along to a similar format to what Ian provided for FITASC.

The most likely venue will be the NCSC, Bisley and will have to figure out dates.

Rough format would be to meet up, grab a brew and food then a basic introduction to the range, etiquette when shooting registered skeet then run through with everyone shooting a stand on the singles and then the doubles then head back for a brew and discussion then head out and shoot a scored round of English Skeet (25), followed by a scored half round of skeet doubles (24)

5\6 people would be ideal but don't mind running additional sessions.

If you are interested post here, this will most likely be on a Saturday.

Cheers,

Jon.

Yeah - I'd have a stab at this... can't be any worse than the first time I tried it...

Excellent, that's 2 :)

Will work to put the pack together so you have something to read before hand and add to the ShootClay pack.

Skeet is not difficult.... Not missing is which is where you need to be to compete at the top level ;)

Looking forward to this :)

Jon.

It's such a pity I live so far away otherwise I'd be there.. My nearest (proper) ground is 80 miles away..

I'm keen but please, not at Bisley. How's about having it somewhere geographically central, perhaps Doveridge SG?

All skeet ranges are the same, so everybody go to their local one and have their iPhones on FaceTime to discusses how its going. :))))

The clays and shooting positions are but the backgrounds and orientations are not which makes a big difference, some grounds use black clays, others orange. At certain times of the year your kill point is hidden by the sun. At different grounds you HAVE to change your hold points and kill points so you are not shooting blind or trying to pick out a clay from a bad background.

Bit more to this easy discipline than many think ;)

I think it's critical to remember that I'm taking the p*ss!

Hope it's a good day. I'd even join in if I had a pass.

Actually shot my first ever competitive skeet today at Northampton - 24 25 23 21 kinda went down hill after missing nout on the second layout!

still didnt think 93 ex 100 for my first time was bad?

Pretty good going Scott :D I shot it yesterday (first 100 reg skeet too), windy as hell. 1st layout, station 1 on the pair, low bird hit the deck before it even got to the trap house let alone the peg  Nothing we can do about the weather I suppose and would have taken days if the ref had no birded every bird that was wind affected :.: managed an 82 which I can deal with, anything averaging over 20 per layout is a win for me :.:
