Does anyone own skeet shooting DVDs by either Todd Bender, Paul Giambrone or Dave Beardsmore?

If so, I would like to beg, borrow, buy or swap with some general sporting clay DVDs I have by GD, Ben Husthwaite, Gebben Miles and Phil Coley.

Cheers

shot the one from the left shoot the one from the right

THE END

I found Chris Batha's u-tube how to shoot skeet videos easy to comprehend

You dont have to use the extreme, weight forward style. I used to, but these days, I am far more upright...due to sporting. But the general techniques still work

Exactly....

Its the principles that work - how far you want to push the weight forward is totally optional. Having been on several "live" clinics with Todd he has NEVER forced anyone to adopt the weight forward style.

He does however advocate good technique including:-

Great eye positioning

Great hold points

Smooth and level lower body turn

Great and consistent break points

Smooth follow through on each shot

Great and correct use of the eyes to find the second target

Great discipline in turning the gun around to get to the second target

Smooth swing and follow through on the second shot

Finish each an every shot correctly.

I will say i am on the verge of 80-85% weight forward but i KNOW he has taught people who are only just weighted onto the front foot fractionally. So much so they look upright.

Its the good principles that apply mainly and if you can take that from the DVD's then great.

DVD's on Todd's site:- http://toddbenderintl.com/products/sunrisevideo-com-skeet-asp.html

There are of course two other options

1). Paul Gaimbrone who has just topped the NSSA averages for 2014 over all four gauges with a combined average of 99.55% over 4600 targets! (Incidentally Todd was 2nd with 99.19%)

Paul Giambrone DVD's on his site - http://www.breakmoretargets.com/store

2). Dave Beardsmore - a UK skeet coach who is doing well with his students

To answer the OP's original question. I would advocate buying them (which ever you choose) - when looking for the value in something you need to compare it. All of the above DVD's are £25 - £45 - which is less than it would cost you to shoot a 100 registered skeet. I would bet my hat that you will get more from all of these DVD's (whoever you choose) than you would learn on your own on a range in 100 targets. I would guarantee that you will watch them more than once therefore they represent great value.

Plus by buying direct it is the coach themselves who benefit totally and they can continue to put back into the sport.
