A weekend of going back to Skeet for our annual trek up to Scotland.

Had a good time, and me and the trusty CG banged in a 99 at the Morton Skeet Classic held at Morton Clays near Edinburgh on Saturday, which was enough to win A Class outright, and then on Sunday further up the road to Auchterhouse near Dundee for the Scottish National Skeet Championship. Stuck in a creditable 97 there too but a couple shy of any winnings.

Still happy with the scores though as we have only shot a couple of Skeet comps in the past year. It was a great weekend with good targets, great friends, and a terrific gun !!!

Also, I must say a huge congratulations to Louis Mondesir who's shooting was on fire in Scotland.

Louis shot FIVE skeet comps in Scotland (two of which were Skeet Doubles) and had a total score of 497/500 after hitting 3 x 99's and two 100 straights.

As you can imagine, he walked away with a fairly bulging wallet and lots of clinking silverware.

Awesome shooting . . . . . . . a joy to watch !

Shot all 3 days at Morton and had a great weekend, equalled and then beat my PB's with a clear round on Sunday (last round)..left a happy camper.

Was a good laugh and great to see some good shooters and I learned a hell of a lot in 3 days.

Hi Paul  -  didn't know you were going to be there otherwise would have made a point of saying hello.

Interesting shooting through the mist on Saturday afternoon wasn't it  :hunter:

Absolutely, I shot at 12:40 when it was just getting misty by the time I left it looked like there was no backdrop just mist and black clays ,I couldn't work out if it was better for seeing the low house or not :)

We went out at 1.20pm. Started off not too bad but the mist came in heavily for layout 2 and 3 and then, just to remind us we were in Scotland and not sunny Essex, we also got the rain on layout 4.

Nevertheless, the targets were very good and as they say, if you can see 'em, then you can shoot 'em !!!   :good:

Have moved the notice about a different shoot to its own topic.

Just before the long drive back from Auchterhouse, here are a few of the guys who made the trip, with just some of the spoils   :preved:
