will it fit an mk38?

cheers
Hi schmokinn

In all honesty I don't know. I originally bought it for a B325 thinking that it should fit, but it didn't. The 325 was then traded in for an MK38, that just so happens to have a trap forend, so luckily I can check and let you know. Should be able to get some info back to you later today/this evening.

Cheers

Depends on year.  the difference is the fixing. The easiest way to tell is; if your gun has the screw hole behind the latch:-Yes.  If not:-No.

My MK38 serial number dates it to 2004 and a quick check shows that all the holes seem to be in right area, photos below. However, have just tried to put the ironwork on the forend and whilst the ejector part fits, the catch part doesn’t. So any gun it goes onto some fettling would probably be needed to get a good fit.

Also the gap between the channel the barrels drop into is about 1-2mm narrower than the current trap forend that I’ve got. May not be an issue with a MK38 sporter as my trap gun has two pieces of wood fitted to the barrel that catch on the forend.

One thing I have also noticed is my trap forend is a bit shorter than the one for sale.

Any more questions let me know! 👍
