Popped down to Southdown today for a spot of Sportrap and sporting. I know there has been a lot of comments about Southdown recently so here is my take on todays two courses.
I shot the sportrap first, wont go in to details on all the targets, i thought each layout was sensible, and straightable if you were on your A game, seemed to let a couple slip by and finished on 90 ex 100, mantra must be, concentrate!
On to the sporting, this was also the Surrey County event so thought I would see if I could win for a third time but I think I left too many out there. i thought the course was again sensible, nothing that could be considered extreme or silly, a couple of clever stands that caught a few people out, the sim pair of crows, one midi and one a standard did cause some misses! On the whole a vast improvement and I think the ground and course setters need a pat on the back, think I had one no bird in the whole 200 I shot so well done on that as well.
Managed to shoot 91 on the sporting, felt 3 or 4 light but hey, the sun was shining, it was warm and just good to not have to wear the winter gear
