Shot them in 8s for many years......hell of a shell.....hell of a kick

OK there isn't a clay you cannot break with a 28gr 7 1/2 shell, big loads for rabbits... Utter fecking tosh. As for chokes 3/8's will kill EVERY target on any sporting shoot, although if you prefer ink bloats you may need to shoot with 3/4 chokes...

can i have an emoticon added to the list?  i would like the one of the gnome with the fishing rod who looks like he's caught something.

thanks

that would be great Will i definitely will do when I am in deep south. Midlands is ok only an hour ish and beets two and half to get to any trap venue
Let me know too, two old tarpies together should manage to baffle the most analytical of engineering brains.

That's a big list even by IBS standards...........

Just a thought ! :ahappy:

Surely a Ladyboy  IS a Balltrap ???

3/4 & Full, keep it simple ! Give it some.

Not many places down this neck of the woods where targets need anymore than skeet and quarter if i'm honest...

that being said, did a 100 bird sporting a week ago and struggled a little with an on report pair of long range battues.

paid a visit to AG&L last year and was pleasantly surprised that everything up there required no more than quarter and half if I put the shot where it counted... .

Nah! You gotta use 3/4 & full cos that's what the BIG boys use!  Or so they tell us ? ?

Squirrel,

I am sure in reality 3/8 will smash most , 1/2 will definately , but I do use  3/4 & Full regularly , in fact New toy is F & XF, but as nearly everyone knows I have 'issues'.

you may be right but at least I will have a sxs for game ?

One more thing

looking to the future if I got into this sporting malarkey what would be the best big comp to do that isn't THAT big or THAT hard.
Join the Premier League through the CPSA. A bunch of good shoots ( 8 ) planned for the year, one a month I think. something for everyone in there.

Just what is it you want to do IPS shoot sporting or game or both you have got me lost in all the posts......is it shooting sporting with a game gun to practise for game shoots, or is it you want to get into sporting and maybe shoot the odd game shoot !

i am totally lost as what you are trying to move to ?

to clarify

I want a game gun for game and to shoot the odd sporting primarily for game practice and with the possibility of enjoying said sporting and doing some more of it and if I don't then no sweat I have a gun for game.

I want to do the above with a SxS because I want one and always have

simples ?

That's fine but why did the registered shoots come into it, because shooting a reg ESP with a side by side is like pissing in the wind

just thought I might fancy a go at reg sometime. Its about pulling the trigger with no pressure to perform it ain't my discipline (yet) so clay broke or clay missed is irrelevant to me. I just want to have fun.

Balltrap ,

You are Definately, Certainly, wrong about that , Simon Ward was a finalist in the British Open at Southdown, AGL & EJ Churchill hold SxS events where the scores are always very competitive. In fact a certain England shooter shot the majority of targets at an event at EJ Churchills with an O/U and still came nowhere.

A one off that's fore sure no disrespect to the guy but 99% cannot shoot that good with a s/s compared with a o/u
