Just thought this might help another beginner,
I bought an approved gun cabinet and installed it prior to the firearms officer visit. As I needed to install in in a right hand corner I positioned it upside down to put the opening side adjacent to the wall. Once fitted it was very stiff to open/close needing a good tug or thump to the door. There are spacer washers fitted to the hinge pins, its a simple job to move these from what became the top hinge to the bottom, thereby lifting the door a couple of mm. Result a very smooth opening door, and passed the inspection.
Hope its of help to someone out there.
