If you hang around cowboys or cowgirls very much, there's a lot of humor to be had. My wife (now 50) grew up on a cattle ranch and is pretty practical and matter of fact about stuff. About 3 years into marriage, we were both pretty well into our professional careers and managed to buy a piece of ranch ground out in the foothills, build a small house, and raise a couple horses for our own use (1 being a colt named Bullet she was going to break). One morning (she had taken the day off) I got a phone call at work that went something like this:Me: Hello.Her: Hewwoo.Me: You sound funny.Her: Yeah. Had a widdow pwobwem. Decided I'd bweak Buwwit today.Me: Uh oh.Her: Yeah. Didn't go vewy wewlwl.Me: You OK?Her: Yeah... Maybe... I think so... Was hawtering him the fewst time, and he thwew his head... ... ...Me: Yeah, they'll do that...Her: Thwew his head pwetty hard... Hit me in the face. I woke up on the gwound...Me: Ouch. Anything broken, got all your teeth, need stitches, ??? Need me to come home and haul you to the doc?Her: No, I think I'm OK. Quite a bit of bwood though. Wooks wike it's all from my wip. Wooks wike I bit fwew my wower wip -- yep, big hole on the inside of my wip, and widdow hole on the outside.Me: I'll come home and we'll haul you in and get you stitched up.Her: Naww -- don't need to. Wooks wike it will be OK. My teef aren't woose. And I just opened a beer. My wip is NOT weaking beer, so it will be OK.Me: Oh good, as long as it's not leaking beer.Her: Yep, I'm awwlll good.
