Looks like it will be tea and cakes for the West Midlands at their area meetings then.

There is normally tea, coffee, and chocolate , with biscuits .

Any cake and Steve Lovatt will have ate the lot before I get there.

But why should there be tea & cake tiptop?

In recognition of the finest Sporting Clay competition ever?

As above Salopian... nothing to do with a shooting competition. Good luck to Victoria, she may well need it.

Wow, I can see Victoria making sweeping changes to the CPSA Board, whilst she is at it she can wash up and hoover.

In fact it could do with a good clear out..

Interesting to see that she was elected totally unopposed, just goes to show how disinterested clayshooters are with becoming involved in the running of their sport.

Obviously Victoria sees this as a business opportunity?

How can you suggest that any CPSA board members could have their own business interests at heart rather than those of the association? Never happened before has it?

I agree and I hope she does well.  She certainly knows how to bring more people into shooting world and that's good for everyone in the business.  Hopefully she'll be a breath of fresh air.  I was supposed to quote Matt but somehow messed it up.

I don't know her and I openly have no interest in any form of politics but I agree give the lady a chance. Good luck to her.

I mean that we now have a director with no experience of clayshooting , never done a registered shoot , no idea of the shannanigans that goes on at CPSA Board level . Elected totally unopposed because no body is interested in the governance of our sport.

Perhaps we could have cake sales to top up the budget that is wasted yearly on legal fees?

Victoria whilst being a lovely lady will not change a thing or move the sport forward.

playing devils advocate the fact that she has no shooting knowledge or passed history of shananigans at board level COULD be beneficial as in new fresh bussines like approach. Time will tell.

I don't know the history of the CPSA politics only what I've heard from some but she does know enough about clay shooting to have successfully brought so many ladies into the sport so I would say that is moving it on a bit surely.  Let's give her a chance at least she said yes to the challenge so let's give her a chance before writing her off shall we.

Absolutely agree here, VKL has entered the sport, built a solid community of people who love shooting, from scratch.

In my eyes, that makes her EXACTLY the sort of person that could shake up the rest of the relics.

All power to her elbow.

Just to add some balance here ,what vkl has done for shooting regards getting ladies having a go and ultimately in turn getting them to take part in competition is exemplary and has definitely moved the sport forward.

I can also agree that having another director with very little competition knowledge is worrying, although a good director will take advice and input from lower down eg regional and subcommittees, and act on best advice.

We (members) could of thrown our hats in the ring and did not.

Exactly correct Paul, It isn't sour grapes on my part , it is frustration that we have a Board that is totally dysfunctional , doing nothing for the betterment of the sport and continually wasting funds instead of promoting the sport.

I don't know what the total CPSA membership is in the West Midlands , but not one interested in the Governance makes me realise what a state our sport is in!
