Just a quick note to all the ShootClay members that sponsored Mrs R on her Swimathon on Saturday. Despite carrying a shoulder injury that will need an operation fairly soon, she managed a time only 2 minutes slower than than last year - 1 hr 11 minutes for the 2.5 km (100 lengths for anyone challenged with new money).
Most importantly it looks she has raised over £550 (once we add the cash to the online total) for Marie Curie Cancer Care - we learnt in some of the leaflets on Saturday that an hours care for a terminally ill patient is about £20 - so the comfort her contribution will bring is really tangible.
Thank you to everyone that took time to sponsor her - either online, or via cash pressed into my palm on recent meetups. We both really appreciate it.
