Yep! 26 units a day would be going it a bit, unless you were an 1980's darts player, then that'd be just for starters!
Ed how much is 26 units a day in normal 4% pints? I've not a clue about all these unit things!!!

Ips there is a serious side to that - make sure it is changed and make sure it does not show that on your Dr's records because there are consequences at renewal time.
How come Sian?

It would be considered too much drinking by quite a few police forces

don't worry Sian I made them change it. That was one of my concerns and joking aside my point really is that records can and indeed are sometimes wrong and could cast you in very poor light once you pop your clogs.

my new dentist also checked my jaw alignment and stuff by way of a strange head massage thing, I think she fancied me (she is after all only human) as she demonstrated a very delicate touch ?

So now the police want to make life difficult if you happen to drink more units than they think you should?  Jesus wept what sort of nanny/police state have we become!! OK it's fair enough if you drink too much and have a history of being arrested for being drunk and disorderly or for a violent offence, but if you just want to drink yourself quietly into oblivion, I don't see what business it is of anyone to try to stop you. The state wants to control every aspect of our lives, sometimes under the guise of it being for our own good. We now have the sugar tax, apparently to reduce child obesity, utter rubbish! It's just another way of taxing people whilst using some lame excuse! Sorry....rant over.

my red bull better not be effected by the fat git tax, its the only thing that helps me keep up with me cocker ?

Yep just another tax mate! Will this money reduce obesity? Will the tax find its way into the NHS?  Not on your life! No I don't drink that sort of stuff so it won't affect me personally, but it's the crap excuses that bug me.

duty on whisky remains unchanged.... Phew

All this reading of these posts is making me thirsty  .........back to my 4 cans a night

Wish they'd make up their minds, in one breath they are trying to get us to live longer and in the next they're compalining they cant afford the pensions! :)

I can't remember for shotguns but for FAC's the police can ask your doctor if there is anything in their records of relevance to the grant or renewal of an FAC.  Too high a daily unit count might be reportable and so the police might say you are not fit to have an FAC as a result.  Dentists know who your doctor is and if they've had 26 units per day on your record it could have got back to the doctor.  Perhaps worth checking that the doc doesn't have it on record incorrectly!

I see your point Robert, however the drink guidelines are just that, guidelines for health reasons. If someone choses to pickle their liver its their business! The same goes for smoking, its legal to do it and also we pay a lots of tax on booze and ****. If however ones drinking becomes an issue, in other words you cause trouble when you've had too many, well fair enough that may be a case to revoke a certificate. So on questionnaires perhaps its just better to give a figure that is acceptable. Sorry, but I've always been a bit of a maverick and I'm not about to change now! The govt and lots of other bodies have far too much information about us, much of it is not exactly secure either. That's another rant over! Pmsl.

stand behind another squad and watch the targets with your eyes not your head in other words keep your head as still as possible this should exercise the eyes and get you warmed up.
Cheers for all your replies, I gave ips's suggestion a go and it definitely helped. I'm sure hamster is also right and it's mostly in my head, just need a way to get on the ball straight away. I help set up the stands so I'll have to try and focus on the clays during set up as well to help me focus more!
