Really frustrated with the weather down here just now! I can't get out shooting its a beautiful sunny day but the temperature is 2C with wind chill -2C you can't shoot trap and enjoy it at these temps surely? I am not going to drive the 50 miles to find out anyway but the light is absolutely perfect for shooting, I am fed up :(

More layers required, start eating a lot and lay down that fat!   :)

Sounds like perfect weather to me - better than shooting at night under terrible floodlights with sideways wind and rain.

I am 5'10" and weigh 13st 5lbs how much lard do you want?? I have my health to think about you know :) Honestly though if trapshooting was a dynamic discipline then fine you generate some blood flow but since its a covered stand you don't even get the sun to warm you just a -2 wind to cool you down! I was shooting in the spring the temp was ~12 C and we could not wait to get off to the pub. It is very difficult to concentrate when your standing freezing !

I know, I feel your pain.  I feel the cold generally anyway I have been wearing my thin thermal layer for the last two months!  Last weekend I had four layers on  and it was not particularly cold according to others, in fact one shooter at Westfield was in his shorts!

I felt like I was shooting in bloody Lapland at Southertn Counties last Sunday! Brass monkey weather mate.

I don't mind the cold when I am active but there is little fun in being more or less static in temps of - 2C equivalent for 2 to 3 hrs. The other problem is I might turn up and be the only one there, the French generally stop shooting trap at the end of September they do not like shooting when they temperature starts down. The forecast for next week looks good at the moment at sunny and 8C if that holds up I will go down.

Currently in sheffield and can report its quite pleasant but not looking fwd to the horrendous traffic driving home in about 30 mins.

Ps- work not play

The trouble is the humidity when it is cold in this country coupled with the wind chill factor

When I go to Canada in the winter and its -28c at somewhere like Niagara it doesn't feel so cold as there is little or no humidity!

I'd rather be shooting in the p*ssing rain anyday rather than stuck at work until 7.00PM every sodding day!!

Rant over.
