Another interesting layout by Steve. I am sure he has just managed to get a job lot of green clays! Some tricky stuff out there. A lot of 89's posted and as I left Chris Durrant posted a 92 I think, great shooting, with Chris Childerhouse right up there. A good turn out of shooters in excellent weather.

Steve, leave the green clays at Weston and let's have an orange set at Westfield next week. (for my benefit anyway)

Cheers stew ;)

Tricky shoot today pleased with my 69...... who's not pleased with a 69 :)

I had a great day at Weston Wood even with the green clays! New best for me 63 with my very recently fitted gun. Lets hope I can keep the scores going up! :)

Had a hideous day today, starting at Weston with 73 and culminating at Hornet, which was worse for me. I'm not sure why but I was really off form.

I was tired after a few late nights and I think maybe the brain was a bit off, plus I have not shot a comp for three weeks, but mainly I noticed that I could not focus fully with my right eye, at any distance. It's my dominant eye, but weaker in terms of my long sightedness. I wonder if my ability to place the end of the barrel was therefore a bit off today. I am usually like this for the first hour after i wake up, but it stayed all day today. I have a Specsavers appointment this week and it has been a while. Just maybe I need a mild prescription lens for shooting. I hope not.. Hopefully I just had a bad day..

Good shoot at Weston. Not many easy birds; could have been a tough affair for most I guess. That lovely sunny day we all loved when we saw it was actually not that helpful with clay visibility though. Some glare and some direct sun dazzle got me a bit; maybe just making my vision issue a bit worse.

Bad weekend for me, struggled for an 80 at hornet and got worse at weston, decided to pack up after about seven stands. Will have a few weeks off now and go back fresh. Lack of sleep and a few crap weeks at work starting to get in my head. Shame, both shoots had some great targets on aswell.

See your online Clynt, sorry did not speak to you at shoot end. I think you shot an 88 did you? What did you think of it today?

Shot w wood today after a six week layof, tried some new things which came of on the last seven stands. But I started like a chump and dropped 20 in the first 6 stands, then dropped 2 in the last 7stands.

Good comeback Piers. Good to see you again mate. I often think of those old days at Brize Gun Club when I first started. I had some bloody nightmares!

Hi sleepy,ya those old days at brize.

Shot brize befor w wood, and nailed it,29/30. Thrashed Roy.

No mate,he's lost the plot regards comps, but still a fantastic shot.

The club has under gone a total new face lift.new club house and soon new bogs.

You should try the Wednesday nights next spring.

Having not shot since 4 Cs I thought the mini break would do me good, but I started really poorly forgetting some of the recent lessons I have had, falling back into some silly habits.

Met some familiar faces , I shot the round with Dab and we completed the course pretty quick. Some very tough targets and a good mix of trajectories etc as is the norm, not many hold ups at all.

I did find that on a couple of stands I had to "spot shoot/cut off the target" as there was very little time to get the shot off, seemed to do the trick anyway.

But I think a sloppy start cost me.

May have to try the pool shoot before I start next time just to get into the swing of things, wonder if anyone else finds shooting a few shots before a comp helpful?

Pleasure to shoot with you Dab :)

You to Gav , good shoot ended up on 79 , just could not straight a stand 1 away on 7 stands then missed 3 of the close birds on stand 12

I'm the same, I seem to waste my first couple of stands, so I need to do a pool shoot or two as you say to get in the swing first.
