This had the feel of a fairly different shoot today. 13 stands, many of which were a bit different.

Heavy overnight rain left a pretty flooded ground, so that was a fun dance around with no wellies!

Another good shoot, slightly spoiled by 2 stands with very close rabbits that dived into a hole in the floor or a puddle. Yuk. Otherwise very good if you could dodge the showers. No big leeed today.

My good form continued with an 85, which I predict will be three or so light for an A win. Maybe more..

Anybody know any scores?

Steve put a steady, but testing shoot on at Windrush yesterday, nice to see some old faces. Good laugh with the scorers as usual.

i too rolled up with no wellies, and really threw away the stand with the rabbit and the teal, rabbit sunk in the puddle and i lost my concentration and finished on a 2. :(

i thought there was a great variety of targets something for everyone. there was a bit of congestion which you cant avoid so we went back and had a cuppa before returning and

finishing off the shoot.

you were leading Will when i left but Chris Childehouse and Mickey Rouse were just finishing

i shot pretty well for me with a pb of 73

Bloody well shot Gavin! Nearly an A class score mate. If I was still leading, you must have left pretty early. How long after I saw you did you go? Shortly I assume..

another 45 mins I reckon, you saw me as we were going for a cuppa we still had two or three busy stands left

The biggest thing I am kicking myself for was the two teals stand. I smacked the first pair, then never touched the long one again. I am sure whoever wins A will have straighted that stand.

On the sim rabbit and high l-r crosser, I didn't even pull the trigger on one rabbit. Couldn't get the point right and then it went down the ditch!

On one of the three pair stands, the bloke in front of me used the bin to scoop away the puddle in the cage! It came back.. :))

on the two teal stand i missed two of the higher teals, my brother dropped one and that was because the wind blew the target to the right and he missed it up the left

dropped two of the rabbits by swinging in front but hit all the crossers

on the stand with the puddle i had feet either side the width of the cage and jeans rolled up over my boots looking something akin to Dexys Midnight Runners

i dropped a lot of the very close stuff so i may change to gun up for these targets as mounting the gun and not being very quick with my eyes cost me today

I did the same as you Clever on the 2 teals , hit first pair then droped 3 of the long teal , be for that i was only 6 away ,then droped 3 on the rabbit and crosser stand and 4 on the other rabbit and teal :yell:

finished on 84

You lot need a nice pair of le chameaus :D Picked up a pair of Leather Vatna wellie boots from the fire sale that is Adenbourne field sports for £50 yesterday :D rrp £200 odd!

Ah! Dab! Know who you are now!

Well shot- again..

Le Chameau will leak in year three. Aigle is where is at..
Other way round mate, Mum used to beat 6 days a week, went through 2 pairs of aigles in a season, changed to chameaus and lasted 2 seasons :p

My brothers had his chameaus 10 years, still no leaks, i had 2 pairs of mustoe wellies in 6 months both leaked gone for chameau now instead

Ive got Sealand had them for nearly a year and beat in them last season, very comfy and no leaks cost about £90

however there bloody useless when i leave em at home

Fantastic shooting Gav...could have done with your 6 on stand 13 (fast rabbit and crosser)..scored 1 :( ......and finished with a 68! Apart from the mud it was another excellent and original shoot from Steve...let's hope things dry out a little for August!!

cheers Radrac, its only my second time their shooting sporting, last time was over a year ago, to be honest it was achoice of that or Hornet, I know some of the guys shoot both in one day, but I really like the variety of Steves targets.

I was lucky on the stand you mentioned finding the crosser first time

Hmmm.. That shot tougher than I thought. HG was Chris C on 90.

My 85 did take A, with about 5 people on 84! On one stand a shooter behind me insisted to the scorer that I hit one marked initially as lost and I was given it. Turned out useful then! Equally, I definitely dusted the back of one further round, which was scored lost. I will sleep happy.
