10 syndicate days starting from next Saturday spread until the end of December then 3 clear up days end of January, 2 days in Wales in October, ducks in Somerset in November, then ducks on a private shoot in January.

I'm off to Spain for some quail shooting in October and then actually have nothing booked in the UK yet. I'm hoping to get something last minute as/when a good opportunity comes up.

First day today, and what a scorcher.

Far too hot and still for the Partridge, they weren't really interested and took a real effort from the keeper and beaters to get them going.

We shot 97 from 4 drives, everyone was behaving and letting a lot go, would rather shoot them when they are flying better.

How are peoples days going up to now? The weather hasn`t been the kindest for showing game for several weeks now .

Got my 2nd partridge day tomorrow and it looks like a dry day forecast which is good,1st wasn`t too bad, only the 1st drive was damp.Have heard a few horror stories with disease thriving in the poor conditions tho`.

I shot in North Wales yesterday and feared the worst. I got my 'heavy rain'  coat out of storage! I hardly used it last season.

Amazingly we got away with drizzle in the morning and only 2 later bursts of heavy rain. One was even whilst we were having lunch. Even the drive back to Glos wasn't too bad.

A lovely smallish day and some superb birds presented by the beating team.

We were blessed with a dry day on Wednesday thankfully! The ground conditions are atrocious everywhere now I`d guess but we had some well presented birds over us despite the wet underfoot.

I did hear that some shoots have abandoned their season due to flooding ,uncut maize crops etc,etc .
