Make sure she holds it properly so it doesn't bite her, no reason why she shouldn't use it. There are some great lady shootists out there, and I guess it all comes down to finding the right weight and technique etc to suit the individual.

Get some 21g cartridges.
Put a good bit of time into getting her to stand and hold the gun correctly at home before you go. Make sure she can hold the gun without arching backwards to manage the weight. If she can't, then best get a lighter gun. First impressions count and you can put her off easily..
If it makes sense to her, explain that the correct stance is like a boxer about to throw a punch, NOT like a boxer receiving a punch..

No probs, Mrs fuz used my gun for a while when she started. Granted I had a 7.5 pound bettinsoli at the time, but with 21g comp x she was fine and loves it.
As Clever says a good bit of gun handling at home, dry mounting, making sure she understands how to open/close it, safety catch ect and general safe handling will pay dividends when she does actually fire a shot in anger. She wont feel such a newbie as it will be familiar. Nothing worse than hubby just sticking the gun in wifeys shoulder and getting her to pull the trigger, surefire way of her getting a bang in the face and being put off

If its any help my wife shoots with a Browning B525 with 30" barrels and 24g cartridges, gets on great with it and no bruises.

What is the gun exactly and how big is the wife.?...sorry got to ask.
Does the gun have a rubber butt pad or a hard black plastic one ?

Get a Kickeeze gell pad fitted in the meantime, should take some of the kick out for her
It's not so much the shells as the weight of the gun. Women seem to to absorb recoil at least as well as men, which may be due to having more "give" so to speak, but some seem to struggle with guns weighing over 8lbs.
My approach to recoil is to wait and see if it's actually a problem before trying to solve it.

Its the cartridges that kick not the guns.
As fuz says, try with some Hull Comp X 21g or some Express HV 21g as you don't want to put her off straight away.
If the Browning has a rubber butt pad she will be all the better for it. Firstly, if she is standing right and she's slim she is likely to have a protruding collar bone that she will be trying to mount onto which will be very painful for her without one.
On the other hand if she is a larger lady she will often have trouble with a sharp toe on the stock digging into the top of the breast because she will want to lean back a little at first.
An awful lot of ladies need the toe taking off a little for comfort so be aware of it.
Make sure she has plenty of padding when shooting but not layer upon layer of clothing as it will cause no end of problems.
You may also find that the comb is a little low on that gun for her.
