Went off to Windrush today to try and excorcize my demons there

Chilly morning with a bit of mizzle in the air but thankfully not too breezy.

A nice layout with the "Canyon" stands being shot from the bottom of the gully instead of shooting down into it. A really good mix of targets. A rabbit clay being hurled of the top of the canyon falling down to the floor, lemming style, to a long battue going halfway across the field that I never came close to :( pretty much something for everybody and quite entertaining.

Saw a bit of Optima and his young lad, just shows what young eyes and reactions do, on the simo standard/midi low driven he was nailing the standard before I heard the trap go  also met Westward reffing.

Think Optima was leading A when we left.

Did I excorcise the demons? Hell yeah, busted them ghosts with a 74  joint 2nd in C when we left :D

thought it was equal but just filled in my spreadsheet and yep PB by 2 :D  :D starting to see some good results of late, not so many bogey targets any more :)

Yep nice saturday morning out, think welsh shooter john kendall won it with 95, i shot an 88, dropped toooooooooo many last birds and even last pairs, when i kept thinking in my head i,ve straighted this, counnting my chickens before they,ve hatched so to speak. Nice to meet westward for the first time reffing on one of the stands, and my boy managed a 61

Very good Fuzrat!

Excellent target mix from Steve as usual and weather less severe than previous shoots this year. Seemed to be going along okay until stand 8 and 9 where I suffered some kind of mental break-down on the simo driven which led to a lousy finish. Did manage to hit that screaming battue twice (big thanks to the wise man behind me for helping me realise I was stopping the gun on both targets....unfortunately not soon enough to stop me carding a 3!). So 57 and we move on :frown: ....

Here is to tomorrow........... :D !

Got a star in the making there Optima ;) Just hope beer and girls dont distract him from shooting  :.:

Really dont know where i was on the battue :( kept bigging up the leeed but at the end I think i was too far, possibly over the top of it :( Hey ho still not hit a battue in 3 shoots, at least I have something to work on and theres only usually 1 per shoot

onwards and downwards (and across a bit) to Wylye then 4 C's T  omorrow

Hmmm, might be cheaper for me if they did. Trouble is his younger brother is making enquiries about starting shooting, getting costly.

Wasn't really watching closely, but did see you miss a couple and for what it is worth I thouhght you were rolling your right shoulder and ending up quite a bit underneath...?

Glad you were enjoying it. Some great scores - 95 from Jon Kendall, 94 Brett Hand, Ruth Demulder 85... Full results will be out asap!

Great turnout too - 1st and 2nd place payout!!
