First of all was planning to go to Spitfire with OLSS but away all week long poor drive home Air Tattoo on doorsteo Mrs not keen for me to be away most of day etc put paid to that. As luck would have it Windrush on today so a first visit by yours truly.
Windrush is very pretty ground in a cotswold valley, good scenery all round and an old railway straight through which gets use both its cutting and an elevated section.
It's a 100 bird ten x ten stand, I started at 1 and went straight through, if I've described anything wrongly do tell.
St1 a report pair l-r both in the air and the 2nd bird a mini, carded 8 which is one more than I thought but every little chip counts.
St2 down into the cutting, report pair a l-r white clay (all 5) bit if a loop, then a quicker flatte r-l orange, missed all 5!
St3 into the cutting, right hand going away green, o/r r-l orange left another 5 here (pattern to this)
St4 driven not too high but I'm struggling with these, o/r r-l in the air, another 5 lost
St5 simo pair of a teal and l/r looper missed first teal then took the rest.
St6 overhead o/r l/r incomer, let the first one land!!!! Lost another 3
St7 distant l/r ( in the air) on report r/l incomer thought I carded 7 but only 6 shown so 4 down here.
St8 downhill rabbit o/r r/l ( more a trap type) orange, I had a mare lost 3 rabbits and 4 of the orange.
St9 r/l with a bit of loop o/r driven, lower than st4 another poor stand for me 3! Missed 4 driven which is becoming a bogey for me now.
St10, Simo pair r/l thought I carded 6 but again one less for a poor 5.
Personally I could and should have done a lot better, other than the driven which I really need to sort two targets "beat" me the orange on two and 8, but I've struggled with these before and not started to address, its that driven overhead target that needs filling in first.
Decent day, lovely ground, I thought fair targets everywhere, met WesC, saw Chipper and Clynt so some familiar faces about.
