Tony went to shoot at EJC after work and shot 3 of the layouts which he enjoyed

About as interesting as a dose of clap!
Not shooting this myself but enjoying the live scoreboard. Brett 100 straight but fell to 14th today with 144..........149 leads. For the average working uk shooter this event would have cost around £1000 unless its paid holiday. Much more for those travelling from overseas. The interest seems to be there Cyril..........just not your cuppa tea eh?

4 day event. Self employed, entry, travelling, accommodation if not local, tent in Will's field! Carts, grub, scotch etc. Ok, I'm jealous ?

Yes I worked it out and I got to about a grand all in.

im down with customers, I'm not sure if have taken 4 days off and sorted accommodation just for the fun of it... Cost will put a lot off, shame as very well run and lovely ground but format won't appeal to a lot of people.

blimey, its best not to do the math were shooting is concerned ?

Interesting comments about the cost of shooting or saying it another way, how expensive shooting is becoming now.

I am sure Squirrel and other oldies like myself can remember years ago how the England Team in most disciplines , consisted of very wealhy, but some short of ability who could win a cap by just being able to attend all the selection shoots.

It's the same with this Super Final format , how on Earth can we have 'Super Finals' where a competitor can give up a number of targets lead in the main competition, start from scratch and unfortunately the Super final targets don't suit them or their style/ability and they come nowhere?

Shooting is relatively cheap in comparison to some of my past hobbies.

I was told today that you got to practise on the actual targets before the competition started at the World Compak. What is the point of that?

Sian,

I think the answer to that is " So that we the organisers can live to the standard we have become accustomed to."

Maybe we are getting into an age of when we ask "What is the point of that?" They will soon retort  " Oh YOU obviously cannot afford to do it."

How wrong can they  be?

?. I can't understand where the sport is in that.
