Has anyone had experience of long term use of a Yildiz shotgun. I bought a secondhand model for Instruction use but the young lady that I was teaching liked the gun so much, I was persuaded to sell it to her. I was talking to a local gunsmith who warned me about possible problems with the top lever and even the action cracking. I was looking to buy another Yildiz 20 bore so anyone with long term experience, that could make me aware of any problems they know of, would be appreciated.

I don't know anyone who shoots them as there "preferred gun" I have the 4.10 version, I love it, realise it's not going to get the pounding a bigger bore might get, I'm seriously thinking about a 30 inch 28 bore, I don't wish to hijack the thread , but if any one has info, on the yiltdiz, longevity in any calibre, it would be appreciated also

A young lad at our local shoot does use one and it is not the most reliable gun I have seen, his seems to have second barrel not firing issue, but as with anything it could be just a one off..

I already have a Beretta Silver Pig 3, but it has a rather nice stock and 30" barrels, both of which I am reluctant to chop down. I wanted a Youth model or a used gun in the £350 bracket that I would not mind chopping down. I want the gun for teaching the Grandkids and for use on some Corporate day events. There is a 20, 28 and .410" at the local gun club but they are only around 12 months old, so not really had 'long term' use. I am collecting a used 28 bore on Thursday, which I have found second hand. I am not a lover of the .410" for a starter gun, I see Kids at the local grounds being 'taught' by Dad using a .410"every week. They are throwing something like a tennis ball at the clay. Much prefer a 28 bore with a 16 gram load, but I believe I can get a 14 gram load now too, at least that will throw a larger pattern and give the Kids a chance.
Hatsun Escort Youth if you don't mind going semi auto...great idea, stock can be made to fit almost anyone and able to handle anything from 19 gram upwards, light to mount and very little recoil. Seen them used to great effect by a few kids locally.

I bought one recently for my missus to use (she is a little thing), have only put 400 through it but it seems a nice gun to shoot, not much recoil, breaks clays pretty good.

Managed to pick up a 28 gauge, secondhand. It has the standard 14 1/2" stock and that horrible sticky rubber pad thing, which I will change. I am led to believe that a new stock in 'Junior' size is reasonably priced, so I will visit the Importers in Preston. It seems a nice gun, apart from the useless pad and having a standard stock I may just have to test it out myself !
