    CPSA Rules

Had the misfortune to follow an A class shooter who on every stand until stand 10 insisted on seeing the clays from the front of the stand even though on most occasions he had watched at least 3 others shoot the stand and then insisted on seeing the targets from inside the cage. When challenged...

    RBSS handicap classic

Had the honour of shooting with Steve today. Shot like a complete novice but following him saved me an absolute disaster particularly on the overhead sim pair. Watching him on the tower with the left to right was awe inspiring. I think even he would admit to dropping at least 6 shots so a 94/95...

    Shoot Near Church Crookham?

Try Mainstone Hill. Its on the military ranges at Purbright Military Camp. Only about 8 miles from you. Friendly ground but need to contact them for your first visit to arrange entry. £90 a year membership, then £25 per hundred birds. Also have a good compact layout. Can shoot on your own if you...

Sunday Sporting Shenanigans - Hunting in packs

I work at Churchill's and referee on the CPSA shoots when work permits and only get paid the minimum hourly wage. Only exception was the World Sporting Championship which was £80 a day. The first 4 hours just about covers my travelling costs after the taxman has had his share.

    Bisley ESP reg 27.7.14

Unfortunately like Mainstone Hill (Pirbright) on the hill opposite the site is classified as one of Special Scientific Interest - Triple rating - so Natural England now demand that only fibre wads are used. At Pirbright we have had to have organized clean ups so the ground can stay open. Just...

    EJ Churchill 2.1.14

Please don't forget you all have the right to appeal your scores with the ground/cpsa, hence a reason for the slight delay in pay out. With 12manned stands the overheads increase. Bear in mind that clay and ground staff costs equate to at least £28 per 100 excluding the scorer/referee costs and...

    Stratstone 7

Only 5 are full size, the other 20 are midi's. It fools you into think they are higher than they really are. Play the percentage game on the pairs by staying on the same clay if you miss it with the first shot.

    Stratstone Challenge...anyone fancy it?

Best of luck. I did it on the 22nd Nov to celebrate by 59th birthday. Scored 0 and 3 (2 with one shot). Thought I was ok with driven targets having done 22 out of 25 on a higher tower at Ashcombe in Devon. Only 5 of the 25 targets are full size, the rest midi's fooling you into thinking they are...
