South West Trains would not allow me on the train with my gun, nor First Great Western. I was removed. I went the following weekend with it broken and wrapped in towels in a normal looking trolley bag. This was only last summer. Wez

Sent one to France in January which never arrived via Air Sure, which is tracked to the door ..... Contact them and they confirm on the phone the van it was in in France was robbed, all parcels stolen. Claim form sent in. Letter back asking for the receipt, which I already said I can't find...

I keep a tin of WD40 like stuff in the van and bore cleaning rod (fluffy thing). After every shoot, quick run through with that, then remove forend, and spray and wipe barrels if wet, then once a month strip and clean and reoil hingey bits and ejectors.

Just got back from shooting a non registered 100 Sporting at Cart Ridge Shooting in Cornwall. I saw some terrible safety issues there in my squad, and I wondered if it was my place to say something or not at the time ? As it happens the person scoring ( employee of the ground) saw all of it too...

And don't forget the "mental" aspect of choosing a gun also. If you are stood on the stand "thinking" about if you made the right choice or not, it won't help at all. I know it sounds daft to some people, but opening the cabinet and smiling as you collect the "old girl" for a day out shooting...
