    Single guns warning..

I've shot a bit of game over the last couple of years and touchwood every day I've had has been pretty good, picked up single pegs from Guns On Pegs and a couple of groups on Facebook. There has always been that little bit of doubt though where I worry about the possibility of one or two idiots...

    I don't see lead..do you?

Normally the faster and further out the target is the more lead I see

What you all been up too...

It was a good day, at the Buckland Shoot just outside of Taunton. Four long drives, they weren't just getting up and circling they flew like proper driven birds, the terrain helped as well. First and second drives we were at the bottom of sloping hills with tall trees in front so they got up...

    Are plastic wads doomed?

I'm using fibre for all my game shooting this year apart from when I need to use non-toxic for waterfowl. Ill carry on using plastic for clays as they are being shot at dedicated clay shoots.

What you all been up too...

Driven duck day in Somerset mid-September. 5 syndicate days: one just partridge, the rest mixed partridge and pheasant.  Nice shoot with a good team and gamekeeper, and it's only up the road from me, 150 bird days so everyone gets some shooting.  The Shooting Gazette have done a piece on the...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

It's very irritating, especially as the weather the week before and the forecast for this week is great. I was a few miles away from Owls, game shooting in that deluge, we only did three longer drives as the weather was so bad, my coat has only just dried out.

    Fibres or plastics?

I shot at Bisley a few weeks ago and had to use fibres in my K80, they were fine, broke all the long stuff really well.

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Wasn't a nice sim pair, tried to take the 70mm as fast as I could and it needed a bit, the standard needed less as it had slowed up but was edgey and falling away, happy with 7/10.  Is Tony ok, see him hobbling?

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

The Premier League seems to have lost its way, nobody from the CPSA has been at the last 2 shoots.

    Sponsorship

The people that get £5 off a thousand, then shoot 80/100 and say how hard hitting and smooth their shells are 🤔

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

I shot the Classic today, shot an average 61 on the red was going really well on the blue until stand 7 when my gun decided to pack in. Had to shoot the rest of it with a borrowed semi-auto, which is a polar opposite to my gun and took me three stands to get somewhere near used to it but...

Eley Hawk Titanium Strike & Titanium

To be fair the Black Gold Game kill really well, they are very punchy though, I couldn't shoot the clay loads. I ended up on the Hull High Pheasant Extreme towards the end of last season and they are also a good shell, kill equally as well as the BG but softer on the shoulder. I'm not...

Eley Hawk Titanium Strike & Titanium

Look what £80 gets me in shooting; tank of diesel which carries me 450-ish miles, 300 practice clays at Sporting Targets, 2 entries, etc. £80 extra per thousand means one less of the above. Lets be honest, bins at grounds aren't overflowing with used Eleys which says a lot.

Eley Hawk Titanium Strike & Titanium

They are going to be £60-80 a thousand dearer than Pro One 28g, so unless Kylie Minogue is to come and load for me, included in the price, then I'm out. Have Eley completely lost it? I pay that for game shells but I'm certainly not doing upwards of 800 of those a month.

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Shot the Southdown Grand Masters this afternoon. Really enjoyable shoot, walked away with a smile on my face which is how it should be.  Great targets, and good use of the terrain by Bob the course setter. I finished on 100/120 which was ok, but I was lucky enough to be on the same squad as...

Owls for me this afternoon, steady enough 90 and the rain stayed away so I'm happy.
