Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Middle of the road 84 at Westfield, shot some of it well, just a bit sloppy in places. Only took 80 minutes to get round and dodged the rain so not all bad.

    Widdington clay shoot

I think Sean had a word with them, something along the lines of the trap fairies not living in the shed where they are kept.

    Widdington clay shoot

Must have been 15 stands open last Sunday  I shot 175 cartridges and didn't have a single no-bird.

    Widdington clay shoot

They don't tame the practice stuff down, I was there last Sunday and they had some decent targets on. First 2 stands were soft targets on there own so I shot as sim pairs, the rest were of registered standard. I think it's 36p a clay.

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Testing weekend in terms of time. Five hours to shoot AGL on Friday, fortunately I had some good company but I've never known anything like it in terms of queues.  Took us an hour to shoot the last stand and was raining for most of that time, glad I stuck with it as I shot a pleasing 94...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

93 at Weston Wood yesterday, my best score there by a mile.   Felt much better, shot routine and timing about as good as I could get.

    Obsessive , Compulsion

Ah yes, the best at the moment is the constant plugging of products that shooters give out constantly on social media for nothing in return.  If I was a gun/cartridge/clothing/hearing protection company and people were constantly telling thousands of other people how good my product was for free...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Weston Wood this morning, despite the number of people there I got round in fairly good time.  Enjoyable shoot today, thought it was tougher than the one there a couple of weeks a go, finished on 80 - just have to stop over-leading stuff.

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Weston Wood yesterday, first clay shoot since early December as game shooting took over, and the two didn't mix for me personally. Not disappointed with 80, I thought that anything with an 8 on the front after quite a lay off would have been ok.  Some stuff I didn't give enough lead on, and...

If you win the Worlds Will, you won’t be the first World Champion he’s rowed with, not sure if that makes you feel any better or worse?

About time plastic wads were banned ..

No extended cartridges, no plastic wads ...... I’ve been using 32g 6 in fibre for this years game shooting, the birds don’t know the difference, even through my ultra accurate clay gun.   Prefer plastic for clays still.

    Why 12?

Not when I'm bringing down ducks at 75-yards

The Highwaymans 150 sporting challenge sept 22-24

I was a bit disappointed with the shoot, I shot ok and most of the targets were good (too many dropping/edgy incomers would be my only slight criticism) but the atmosphere there was pretty flat and the 5-pair stuff just left me feeling that it was set a bit lazily, especially with all the land...

    Extended chokes for game

I've just seen a Baikal with a 13-inch stock and bent barrels for £50, I'll use that on my next day at the end of October.  I mean I'm paying £650 for a mixed Partridge/Pheasant day and don't fancy hitting anything. That picture was taken on a nice mornings goose shooting, bought down my first...

    Extended chokes for game

I did when I had finished.

I use this, if anyone has a problem then that's their issue.

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

This is why Gunsite is such an enjoyable shoot, they only use black clays.   I carry around 5 different coloured lenses now, I've found the peach ones (55) to be the best all rounder, very good at picking out orange and pink against similar backgrounds.

    stupid targets

Yes I was there, thankfully I'm left handed which helped.
