@Turkey and I (as well as half of the South) decided to pop along to Gunsite this morning. We arrived for 10am and it was already a challenge to park!

First 6 stands in and I was 1 away from Matt, sadly that didn't last and some sloppiness crept in. 3 hours 45 minutes later we finished and I was pleased with my 83. Even more so that I only dropped a couple on the 'big' stand. Always refreshing after watching a few people walk away with 0's.

Exceptional shooting from Matt. That one jumping bunny might have cost him as he finished on 95 and 96 was leading when we left!

Early start up to Grange where I started badly, too badly.  Just one good thing I took away with me which was hitting a crosser off the tower which required a good bit of lead and I got two of the three.  On to Oakedge set by Steve Lovatt with a fresh start and managed to come joint 4th in class and take Ladies.   Jekyll and Hyde today.

100 Sportrap at Bywell this weekend I shot a 91/100 for joint 3rd in B. Notably I would have also been 3rd in A.

96 was High Gun, with 2 shooters splitting the pot.

90 Red 87 Black, would have liked a few more on the Black but missed twelve birds   from stands 2-7 then only one more miss between 8-13. We had dry weather today but the tracks are very muddy although I was fine in just sturdy boots, the car park is a bit dodgy in places even for 4x4's !

College Farm today in the mist. Flipping cold wind, didn’t expect that..

A great course I thought. Missed a daft pair on first stand and faded on the last stand annoyingly, but it wasn’t a doddle and having been a bit off form lately, not unhappy with 88. I reckon a 95 HG would be right.

College Farm today, cold, wet for part and like Gorillas in the Mist.  Good course shot badly by me.  I don’t think 8 in a squad suits me particularly when 5 are very noisy and I mean very noisy not normal babble.  Shame because it just pissed me off and I never shoot well when I’m like that.

Sounds irritating Sian. There is one very good AAA shot who always talks very loudly when stood behind shooters. Drives me nuts and has on occasion cost me targets (Yes, I know I should learn to ignore distractions). But it’s sheer ignorance. He also dumps his cartridge boxes on the floor everywhere too, so you get the character..

I know I should ignore it too but I am usually  unpeturbed by sound in the background but not that level of noise.  Just a shame because the course was good but I just gave up trying.

Westfield with Bunter & Stewpot, had an “off day” Im putting it down to old age, Bunter 74 Stewpot 90, Sam Usher 95 was HG when leaving, just as the superstars were starting.

It was dry, warm(ish) and yes the layout caught me out in lots of places, despite latter had a pleasant morning on the clay.

Westfield this morning with @Turkey and Colin.

Started off on the Gamefair qualifier shoot. I ended up on 16/25 and 16/25. Not enough for anything.

Made the mistake of looking at my card going in to the last but one stand. Saw I was on for a 91 and that played on my mind. Ended up on 88/100 which is still a new PB so thrilled with that. Slightly gutted I couldn't get my first 90 but still, that's a challenge for another day!

All in all, happy Doug.

No reg for me today,a club fairly local to me has a side by side cup shoot once a year so i blew the dust off my old one and went along.targets were steady enough, had one silly episode missing 3 on one stand due to giving lead when none was required.seemed to take an eternity going from front to back trigger!!great fun shooting in a relaxed squad, managed 44/50 so was happy enough with that and managed to take home a bit of silverware.nice to do something a bit different from the reg norm.

Reg shoot at Horne (Court Farm) this morning.  Not too many waits and me and the OH got around in about 90 minutes.  Nothing too outrageous in terms of targets, although I saw a few people struggling with the following pair green target in the corner. Have a feeling many were in front of it.  I finished on a 77.  Left a good few out there.  Two stands I randomly missed the first pair (not committing to the shot and just drifting the gun along) and too many other where I was on them before dropping one or two towards the end.  I definitely think I prefer Court Farm to their Gatton Bottom site (they don't rely so much on long low incomers and going away targets to fill the stands).

I did Four Counties then Westfield. At both shoots I cocked up two stands, ruining a reasonable card at each..

4C I just didn’t connect with two targets and refused to change what I did enough. 10 away for no good reason, ending on 83 having done a sensible job elsewhere.

Westfield was great I thought and I shot 10 stands well enough, but dropped 5 targets on two stands that I shouldn’t have, especially when I dusted the ones I hit there. 89 was a better total, but way out of it amongst the who’s who. I shot with Chris Childerhouse who missed a soppy one on his first stand and one tricky one for 98. HG I think..

91 at Greenfields which wasn't too far off the pace it seems especially as GD didn't complete his first card owing to a couple of 7's one of which I managed a 9 on with a fairly crazy Teal followed by a long crossing quartering L to R off a tower, chipped one of the Teal but proper crushed the other four with about a 5 ft lead  :D  had 4 rather poor misses elsewhere which would have made the card much better.

Today was Four Counties and Westfield.  Lots of sim pairs at 4Cs 8 of the 11 stands.  Started off poorly up in the wooded area  losing 9 on my first two stands and finished on an 82 which I wasn’t too unhappy with.  Went back to stand 3 for last stand and lost 3 of the white bird which did make me cross.  On to Westfield where it rained a bit and to my surprise William was there and it was raining ☔️. Enjoyable course missing a few sillies but finished on an 85.  Mr Hoskins shooting his auto as the Kemen is going to Spain for a facelift, deserved after 21 years service.  Hasn’t picked up the Beretta since last year’s Beretta World and shot a 95 missing two on his last stand.
