    stupid targets

There was a similar target at the Cambridge Premier League shoot and the Jack Pyke at Sporting Targets. So many people over-lead them.  There is a point where these targets stop before dropping, bit like a crow they need rifling with no gun movement.

    Thec British Open at Hodnet

Quite pleased with my 102/120 today, and what a fantastic ground and course of targets. Nothing ridiculous, but you had to be completely switched on all the way round, I don't think I've ever felt as mentally drained after a shoot. The white clay being thrown toward you followed by the teal...

    Prolonged concentration tips and suggestions

When I saw you yesterday I had just shot my 2 worse stands and on both I felt just completely drained.  I stopped for a few minutes, drank most of my water, carried on and finished quite strongly. I had the same on Sunday, had a dip about half way round.  I'm certain that I didn't take on...

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

Bit of a mixed weekend for me. Battled to an 80 on a very good shoot at Widdington on Sunday, one bad stand with 1/8 and I genuinely can't remember the last time I did that.    Southdown yesterday where I started well on the sportrap with 89 which was enough for 3rd in A.  Sporting again was a...

If you had to use just one choke for everything!

The one he broke from the hip was after we finished, we were the last squad to shoot the pool shoot on the Saturday and it was a fun bet for a round of drinks in the evening.   He hit this 60-yard battue 2nd shot before it had barely turned over, a ridiculous display of hand/eye coordination.

If you had to use just one choke for everything!

That was a good target, needed a gap, but I broke it convincingly with 1/4 choke and 7.5s. Ed killed it shooting from the hip.

If you had to use just one choke for everything!

For clays only I wouldn't change the 1/4 choke I've currently got top and bottom in my F3. Im sure those Briley chokes are tighter than what they are stated, but with those DTL Elite cartridges which also throw fairly tight patterns, I certainly never feel under-gunned.  I've comfortably broken...

    Squadded shoots

Don't worry about it, remember that everyone you are shooting with will only be interested in what they are doing.

    Blaser vantage and supersport reviews

Sorry for the delay, been crazy at work today and ended up working through lunch when I intended to reply. Are they reliable - I'd estimate that I've put over 35000 cartridges through mine over the last 2.5 years and never had an issue, someone previously said that cheaper cartridges were an...

I have the Supersport, what would you like to know?

    How to?

Best thing to do if you aren't seeing a coach (I know a very good one), is to see one, so he or she can quickly get rid of any basic flaws you might have that's causing you miss and miss. Better off spending half a day with a good instructor rather than turning up to your local ground, shooting...

I need to get out more

I'm in Basingstoke and can recommend a few local, friendly shoots

    White gold v blue diamonds

Try the DTL Elites, I've shot Sporting with them for a year now.  I can do 3-400 in a day and not feel anything, and don't be fooled because they are a trap cartridge, I've comfortably broke targets at silly ranges with them.

    Quality polished perazzi barrels?

I didn't think people were too bothered about what the inside of tins of beans were like Will?

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

I did alright at Southdown today; 94 on compak and 90 on sporting.

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

You would be surprised as to how far out that target was and him much lead it needed with its speed, I saw 5-foot.

Any personal goals for the 2017 season?

I did manage to get to AA in June which I was delighted with, along with getting a couple of sponsorships along the way.  Been really fortunate as I've not looked for it but I've been rewarded for putting lots of hard work in. Now I just want to carry on improving, and jump to another level of...

    Meadowcroft 16th July 100 Reg

Nice that they had 13 stands there, I shot a world championship over the weekend where both courses had 12 stands to start with and one finished with 10.

    ICTSF World Sporting

Not long been home as traffic was heavy. Didnt shoot well on the blue course; 73 which gave me 151 ex 192, shot better but I've also shot worse.  Apart from the sim pair of teal that was removed but we all got to shoot (which would have been hard enough as a report pair) it wasn't far off being...

    ICTSF World Sporting

I shot the preliminary yesterday (not particularly well) and that was pretty depressing with all the stands being so close together, sportrap this morning which was ok with just one silly target, then the red course which I shot fairly well. Its not particularly exciting with lots of quartering...
