    Winter Clay Shooting Attire

I've got some new tactics for this winter! Torso: Merino base layer, Under Armour fleece top that is water repellent (not proof), skeet vest. In between shooting a down jacket goes on over the top to stay warm. Legs: Pair of winter walking trousers. Fleece lined and water repellent. Hands...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

I enjoyed Westfield yesterday but made a mess of the two platform stands, ended on 80. I shot it early (was entry number 1 thanks to the clocks going back!) and didn't find any stands affected by the sun but I will echo the comments about the rabbits.

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Which stand was that? Our group had a load of no birds on from the driven tower but as that was the A bird it wasn't a cartridge waster (just tired arms :) ). I only saw one other no bird which was on the field stand that had a quartering teal followed by a decent L-R fast crosser.  I didn't...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Haven't posted much of late as really not been out shooting too much. On Sunday I was out at Honesberie for first cards. Experienced the no birds from the tower and rabbit traps but saw they got it replaced, apparently caused some hold ups later on in the day. Spent some time on the phone with...

    24g No8 Fibre

24gm Evo's are lovely cartridges!  The numbers show that 24gm of 8's will average 359 pellets (28gm would be 410 pellets) 28gm of 7.5's will average 350 pellets. You're really not missing out!

    Loaders Course

After finding out the cost of advertising on GunsOnPegs to be a touch high (£50 for the season). I think there will be a more competitive offering coming soon 🤐

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Busy weekend after a long break.... Wednesday was Ian Coley's for the last of the summer series. Ended up 3rd in class with 84 and 3rd overall in class for the series. Saturday was a local 80 birder. Ended up 5th overall which wasn't too bad as all shoot was done 'gun down' to practice a more...

An open letter to Hannah Blythyn

Following the ban of game shooting on Welsh public land the BASC have sent a fantastic letter.... An open letter to Hannah Blythyn Oct 3, 2018 In July, Natural Resources Wales received a letter from environment minister Hannah Blythyn AM stating that Welsh Government does not support pheasant...

    Hi! From Gloucestershire

Hi Matt, Welcome! Not sure if your local club is the Gloucester Skeet Club? If so, great group down there. One of our County Championships is there this weekend. Make sure you join the regions facebook page and hopefully see you out and about! https://www.facebook.com/GloucestershireCPSA/

    Kegworth, Honesberie or Northampton

Honesberie for me. They've put a lot of work in to the ground and there's some really interesting new stands there. Also, chance to qualify for the series final with pretty impressive prize pot!

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Yesterday saw the end to a very pleasant summer series at Ian Coley. Really great fun to shoot and a great format to encourage competition even in the lower classes. After winning my class overall last year I sadly came close (handful of clays) but couldn't make it stick this year. Most of my...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

I've only picked the gun up 3 times since mid July I think so Sunday was always going to be an interesting day!  Was lucky enough to make up the numbers in our Counties B team for the West Midlands region Inter-Counties held at Kingsley Moor. It was my first time up there and it really was a...
