    price of registered shoots...

Decent reg sporting peters out pretty quickly North of Stafford. A few 100 sportings about but not registered although there are grounds that could very well put on some cracking shoots the North appears to be trap type disciplines. :(

    If I won the lottery

Last thing in the world to buy would be a UK based shooting ground or in fact any European shooting ground. Perhaps a nice hand built gun for 25k or so and with the other 975000 I could shoot in style at any ground in the world for several lifetimes in between sailing, flying and travelling to...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Oakedge was glorious in the sunshine! I only shot the sporttrap ( 4 rounds ) just breaking the new gun in. Love how the kills are back up. The gun definitely works for me. Traffic  on the M6 was a nightmare but the run back using all the back roads was a hoot!

    New Gun Syndrome

Chopped in the Perazzi today and crossed to the dark side.   I only took it out for a little test run and of course I mullered everything I  pointed it at so it kinda stuck.   I just don't learn.

    CPSA General Rule

You'll notice I said 'could' have. Setting up a shoot these days will cost you a wad of readies.

    CPSA General Rule

Although there are some that believe that birds only is a pox on competition shooting there are those of us who believe it has rescued a lot of shoots from folding. For some the extra £5 'given away' on a Sunday into a fund they have no chance of winning nor for that fact desire to participate...

Hi Frame rate / 4K Camera.

:)  So fancy shooting glasses claiming to enhance target definition are actually illegal! That's it folks all those fancy coloured lenses are out! :)

Hi Frame rate / 4K Camera.

Just word the rules something like  'personal video equipment may not be used to analyse shoots in real time or between shots. Fitting these devices is not prohibited for post shoot personal analysis or training however' I seen no problem with going home and seeing how badly I screwed up after...

Brace yourself, more price rises coming...

Where have you shot in the US? On average the US is at an altitude over 1000' and sometimes a lot more. At 30 degrees C and 1000m above sea level the air density is considerably different to being at 20 degrees at 100' in the UK. That alone might make a huge difference. For one thing a clay may...

    A Beginner's Dilemma

Buy used whatever you do. You lose VAT and another 10% when you walk out the door with a new gun and if it's one of the B,B,M group it's unlikely to be a complete dog so will retain almost all of the value you paid for it.

You can do it. Have confidence

Fitted my own stock adjuster. Yes, taking a saw to the walnut was daunting but it turned out well! :)

    do you wear glasses ?

I got contact lenses in single focus. First time I'd tried them in about 35 years ( previous experience with hard glass lenses was over in an hour or two ) and found them to be great for shooting. Only problem is after wearing glasses for 50 years I feel totally exposed without them! :)  But...

    CPSA Level 1 Instructor Course

Christ! The cost of instruction to learn to fly a glider solo is less than that, in fact it's 0 if done through a club. To get an instructors ticket took a week of flying for which I paid for my flight time and tows. Again the cost of the course was nominal. After that I was qualified to teach...
