    Steel for clays

PP - see this: Testing Steel brands for Fitasc this Weekend and my review of Hull Pro Steel: Hull Pro Steel 28g #7 I've and still am shooting steel on regular basis and the more I use it the better it gets (must admit it takes time to let go tho). To sum it up - look at #7 (2.5mm) steel as...

    Hull Pro Steel 28g #7

Due to good results on sporting layouts I've put additional pattern at 20m on paper through 3/8 (0.015) on the left and at 40m through 5/8 (0.025). The more I shoot this load the more I like it.

Confused about "not for steel" chokes

Lars we still don't konw the make and model of your gun - it may come in handy. I am shooting steel on regular basis through my Steel proven MK70 and 5/8 (0.025) Teague choke, despite being advised against by the choke maker. 5/8 deals with trap targets just fine - still it is my gun. Through...

    Cartridge T numbers

According to the height of the metallic base of the case or cartridge, the gauge types are: Type 1= 8mm Type 2= 12mm Type 3= 16mm Type 4= 22mm Type 5= 27mm P.S. The higher the T the better ingredients - powder, shot hardness, wad...

    Soft Fibre 8's required..

Was given some new Clever's T2 in Fibre - 2.3mm - gave them a try and they worked quite fine - not the softest must say but quite effectively cover all ranges from 20-40m. I don't know about affordabilty tho...patterns as usual L at 20m through 3/8 (0.015) R - 40m through 5/8 (0.025).

By all means you have to compensate different birds with your stance first - if that isn't in order nothing will work - here is an intersting vid on that subject - bit awkward but guy got the point right - mark his words at 6:28: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfeTXeSf8sE

    Pattern density or shot size?

Pattern density - if you intend to have more open chokes. If you choose bigger size you will have to tighten the chokes. P.S. Have you tried 28g Hull Sporting 100?

    Choking on a decision....

Iggy it is a mental thing and I wouldn't do it. Before you Teague them try to find a "loose" cartridge that spreads faster than regular ones do. I have been forth and back and found that Clever T2 2.3mm, Clever Bior 2.2mm and Cheddite Free Shots 2.2mm throw me a 0.010 pattern through 0.025...

Shot a 2 day 400 bird Compak comeptition - Kral Sumavy in Czech Republic...arrived on friday and shot 100 clays training, 250 (5 layouts with 6 traps - twice on 2 different settings and schemes) on Saturday + 150 (6 layouts with 6 traps) on Sunday. Still gathering impressions...emotional -...

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

I was helping my friend setting up a Compak in Croatia - Zagreb County. I was shooting out of competition and scored 90/100.

other hobbies etc past or present

All my life was about hunting. And this is one of the many peaks in doing so. It took me three separate 10 day attempts and 2 years to get this bull in truly wild (heavily poached) and remote Doma hills (Zambezi escarpment, Zim), the old way by tracking and using double rifle with open sights.
