Skeet, Phil, thanks for this. I spotted their page yesterday and they are on my list of people to call. I want to talk to a smith/stocker anyway to see about the mechanism in the fore-end.  I'm sure I could switch it over, but screwing it up is not an option..! Again thank you both for the help.

That would be very kind of you, but please don't put yourself to any trouble.  I'm going to have a chat with a couple of the local Gunsmiths and see what they propose.

Thanks MrLot, it's a good idea, and in fact how this got started, but sadly the guy making my airgun stock can't/won't take on a shotgun project. I'm now looking for someone else to take it on.
