Is it possible to trial a set of chokes?

I'm planning on patterning my OE chokes this weekend and as I am interested in a set of Mullers I wouldn't mind patterning them as well to see what the difference would be.

Do companies have demo chokes that can be borrowed? Or am I best buying and then re selling if they don't suit?

Not that I am aware of??

I think most folks buy them, try them, then use them or consign them to the paraphernalia cupboard ? (or flog 'em of course!)

Unless you have a friendly RFD that will do it, but can't see it.  Good luck with the quest and interested to hear if you find anywhere to let you test drive them ?- I'd quite like to see what difference Mullers make without buying them first ?

I actually do have a selection of demo chokes available for customers to try, providing of course they are the correct thread type for their gun ?

Drop me a line via www.mullerchokes.eu and lets see if we can make this happen ?

FYI I'm out of the office all next week but will sort on my return.

What gun?
It isn't just about patterns with Mullers, I use them and love them, you can read what I think about them if you click the link in my Sig below.

HardFocus was kind enough to let me shoot a few stands with a pair of U1's in the gun this morning.

I was really surprised by the difference two little bits of metal made to the gun feel.

However, I didn't straight the stands? I thought buying them bumped you up a CPSA ranking automatically?

Its all in the mind - not the gun and certainly not the chokes!

It's 'cos they're borrowed. The ranking bump only happens when you buy them... ?

That makes perfect sense. I'm not sure why I didn't work that one out!

I will make sure that I provide my CPSA number to the retailer to get the increased ranking.

The thing I like about the mullers I have, is not the pattern. I'm sure it's ok, however if they're any better than my factory chokes I couldn't honestly tell you!? But what I do like is the weight difference. It noticeably makes a different feel in the "swing of the barrels" which I prefer.

It's amazing how a relatively small weight change makes such a apparent change when it's at the far end of the gun. :)

Those of you who shoot Muller chokes with success , I wonder if you could lend me a few thousand of your cartridges to see if it will improve my shooting, to go along with my Mullers , of course.

I should mention that my reasoning for looking at external chokes are not score related. I'm not good enough for a choke to matter, I'm missing by feet, not inches.

Its to stop the end of the barrels getting so dirty and gives me a cheaper point of impact in case of knocking the end of the gun. If I am buying some then I might as well get the best performing setup as they are all roughly the same cash.

I would love to know the results of your pattern test, personally I thinks it's about cartridges used, as much as choke brand.
