Hi all,
On the hunt for a Muller Optima HP U1 featherlite choke if anyone has one they want to move on?
I’m actually looking for two, but appreciate that’s a bit ambitious 🙂
Thanks
Ian.
If your gun has a standard/factory finish, whatever you d, give it some oil before you risk taking it out in the rain. They have a reputation for suffering with water spots if it gets wet, and thats regardless of what gun in my experience….from Silver Pigeons to DT’s.
I normally use CCL too.

I don’t want to get embroiled in any arguments, but I have a copy of this book that a bought a few years ago when I first stated.
I couldn’t find a copy either so wrote to Peter who very kindly posted me a copy himself from the US and signed it too. I dont want to lose this book or give it away...
I’ve not booked on either, despite it being my relatively local and regular ground. I did toy with with idea but work is just too busy at the moment and time off is rare.
I do understand that a major championship should be a challenge, but we see on a weekly basis that most shoots sort the...
Thanks all for the replies and I’m thrilled to have played a part in creating a nerdy thread, my OCD is delighted 😀
I now have my very own ‘git pad’ and it takes pride of place on my right shooting boot. I say shooting boot as I only use them for shooting in, although it does now also look...
Brilliant, thanks so much for your reply and advice.
I only ever use Napier Gun cleaner, have done for about 10 years now and never had any issues with it so will carry on as you suggest.
Might have a look for a leather toe rest on eBay.
Thanks again 👍
Hi all,
Being new to a fixed choke gun, I’ve come across 2 new problems…..both of which are first world problems of course, and both of which relate to the business end!
FirstLy, I no longer feel comfortable about resting the muzzle of the (broken/unloaded) gun on my foot while waiting to...
Thanks for the reply, glad you like yours too!
Interesting what you say about the bores though, I’ve thought exactly the same thing. They were gleaming when I bought it and just as shiny/reflective as any chrome lined guns I’ve owned.
Equally surprising was how well they seemed to come back to...
Thanks very much for the replies and advice folks, much appreciated. I managed to sneak out between the showers this morning and shot the registered at Doveridge.
Not an easy shoot I don’t think, it was Derbyshire Championship shoot but I managed to finish on 75 and although I went TO (so no...
Fancied a Perazzi for a while now, and fuelled by the march of time (age), risk of getting hit by a bus or other natural disaster I decided to go for it
Visited Neville’s in Alfreton yesterday to have a mooch, and settled on a smart new High Tech S, 32” with 7-10mm reverse rib. It’s off the...
I bought 1000 of the graphite ones a while ago (only ones I’ve ever bought) and I’ve been a bit underwhelmed with them overall. I really expected them to shine, but on balance I’m much happier with the results I’ve been getting with Olympic Blues which seem smoother to shoot and give better...
