How much is too much ?

You are preaching to the converted. I am also aware of the huge difference in cartridge prices in Europe. The Eurpoean approach is the model I would love to see in the UK . However many in the UK  industry see the shooting fraternity as a cash cow to be milked to its limit. I am sure others  may...

😂😂😂 one place I shoot the bins are usually quite full and already its noticeable that the type of empties are changing. The high end stuff of the UK main manufactures are rarely seen. I am sure many of these lines will become obsolete in the near future

How much is too much ?

40p per clay, no way as far as I am concerned, that just greed and exploitation of the gullable

Not sure that you can blame the general inflationary trends like haulage ,fuel and wages etc. The price differential is too great . Plus, the same inflationary pressures are also happening in Europe.

    Another price increase

Well guys, I do accept things have changed and the price of everything seems to be increasing. However how much is this necessity and how much is profiteering is a matter of judgement. As far as cartridges are concerned I have made my mind up. It's now greed and suppliers are increasing their...

Just Cartridges - Anyone Used/Using Them?

Too true, talking to a bloke who has been around shooting for years and also a top shot.  He told me he had never met a shooter who was better than the cartridge in the gun.

Just Cartridges - Anyone Used/Using Them?

Hi colin , don't know about Fiocchi but I spend quite a bit of time in Spain. At my local decathlon store you could buy a slab of solenagc 28gm with plastic wads for £42 . Never tried them because I always fly home. I would assume I could get them bulk even cheaper.  From what I hear they are a...

    CPSA Majors “Competition Only”

Sorry to be a pain, but what are we talking about here money wise in your average registered comp. Whatever it is than increase it by about 20/30 % and is it an amount really worth arguing or fretting about. Surely taking part ,doing your best and coming out on top is the most important factor.

    CPSA Majors “Competition Only”

Like I say, I am a novice. But if prize money is the motivating factor for shooters, then I think adding a few quid to entry is quite pathetic really. Why not make it a 'big boys' game , Add £50 or £100   then winner takes all. That would sort the men from the boys.  Wonder how many would enter then

    CPSA Majors “Competition Only”

I am Will.  But the CPSA is a national organisation so surely it has to consider its memembers nation wide. Also some grounds put on many registered comps other than ESP. However, I am no expert but my initial comment is only based on local observations. But I am sure if grounds would prefer...

    CPSA Majors “Competition Only”

I have only dabbled in a few registered shoots but look at the results of the grounds near me. Some get pretty full but many are sparsely attended. If by making them competion only and entrants numbers dropped even further, I am sure ground owners would soon be complaining. Commercial grounds...

Looking at miroku.eu they seem to have quietly dropped fixed choke guns.

Perhaps they are just catching up with the rest of the industry.

Looking for 24g fibre #9 cartridge

MJJ makes a valid point, because if you can't hit them with 8's going to 9's will make no difference I would have thought. Anyhow what about Eley select, good value cartridge they do Fibre 9,s in 21gm and 24gm . You should pick them up quite easily

    Another price increase

Just to add to my post above. I have just checked my local decathlon store in Spain I can buy a single 25 box of 24gm plastic wad 7.5  at £4.27  Or a 250 slab of 28gm 7.5 plastic wad at £42.70 That's a basic store and small amounts!!! I bet searching round and buying say 2000/3000 they are...

    Another price increase

That's the problem with all this. Fiocchi and their distributors are not daft, neither are they charities. They will be fully aware what's happening in the UK market place. They will see the huge price differential between their product and the competition and will take advantage. They will...

    Another price increase

As a matter of interest, anyone any idea of the cartridge use clay v. game. I would think that there is massive percentage in use of clay.  80% or more if I had a guess. If reading posts on here, as well as intentions of shooters I know, Hull could be in for huge drop in their sales volume. A...

    Another price increase

Too true, I spend a lot of time in Spain and there are loads of Decsthalon stores. When I visit and see their cartridges prices ,it makes my blood boil. You can come to no other conclusion, UK shooters are being shafted big style

    Another price increase

The price hike over this last 12 months has been huge, all things considered. I think many shooters will change to cheaper brands where they can. This could have significant effect on sales volumes of the more expensive producers over time. If some of these manufactures don't adapt their ranges...
