Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

I wish they'd do comp's at the weekend.

The Highwaymans 150 sporting challenge sept 22-24

Well it's in association with Mercedes so maybe George will drive you from stand to stand in a SLR.

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

87 was still top score when I left at 14:30. Managed 63 in C class which amazingly was joint second in C but they'd added it up as 62, I was birds only anyway so whatever.   Ive been to longridge a few times now but today was by far the toughest and there wasn't even any rabbits. Too tough in...

    DTL Practice

Thanks, Sian. So is that what those tannoy speaker looking things are at Coleys? I thought they were so you could hear the scorer calling a loss!

    DTL Practice

I was thinking of giving DTL a try as I've only shot Sporting since getting my licence. I think Park Farm has DTL practice in the evening, mid week so I might pop along. I was wondering about the practicality of it. Do DTL practice stands typically have someone to button and score for you? Or...

    Jocker Cartridges

I see justcartridges.com have them on a "bin-end"offer at "169 per 1,000 (+£15 delivery).  They list TT1's 28g plastic at £181 a thousand, for the difference of £12 a thousand I might as well stick to TT1's  (not that I buy from them anyway). I am tempted to to order a thousand but I'd prefer...

Where did you get them from? I keep hearing good things about Jocker but have never seen any for sale on my travels.

Has The World of Clayshooting Gone Mad?

When I was 14 I refereed (although we called it "pressing and marking") at Nottingham and District  (when it was owned by the Groves) and we used to get around £15 - £20 for 6 or so hours on a Sunday and 6 or 7 quid for a Wednesday evening. You got even less if you sat in a trap house. There...

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

I'm near Evesham. There's some good clubs not too far away but not that many registered shoots. Longridge is only 30 mins away, Honesberie is an hour. Coley's is close but they seem to only do competitions in the week.

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

The other shoot was Throckmorton (my local). Like I said, got in the top 10 in the past 2 shoots there and I guess I was starting to feel a bit cocky/confident. I was in a rush to finish so I could get to Honesberie so skipped the last stand as there was a queue, but was missing so many I wasn't...

Hi BerattaBetter. Welcome to the forum.

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

What score did you get at Honesberie? It was my first time shooting there and I thought it was a really fun course (apart from a few trap break downs). I went backwards round from 12 to 1 and only dropped 2 on the first 3 stands but went seriously down hill from there. I did two shoots today and...

    Those pesky rabbits

That's why I hate rabbits, their always so inconstant. Also, they always seem deceptive to the amount of lead needed.  They had a "squirrel" target at Cotswold at the weekend; a very close, very slow rabbit that was rolled down a ramp, with the trap only releasing and giving no push to the...

    No bird.

Very true! I have learned a lesson in thinking things through before pressing that submit button
  18. Worcs

    No bird.

So could you take 2 shots at the second bird (B) if it's already established that you hit  A? Or is that just very unsportsmanlike!?
  19. Worcs

    No bird.

Sorry if this a question that has been answered a thousand time already but I've been told conflicting answers at different shoots. shooting ESP, A then B on report, if you hit the first target and the second is a no bird, do you take the pair again and the first kill doesn't count? i.e. A =...

    Price drop

I'm planning on going there tomorrow for the first time. I was just about to place an order with justcartridges, glad I held off. Do you know if south Worcester have buttoners on a Sunday?
