On a side note, how dangerous are miss-fired cartridges? If there was an issue with the gun not hitting the primers hard enough, would it put the cartridge in a volatile state where a small knock may ignite the primer and you get an exploding cartridge in your pocket?

Is it a firing pin problem? Are the primers penetrated deeply enough  :oops: ? I'm a complete novice so I'm probably talking out of my arse!

I get the impression you're saying that through gritted teeth. If I'm honest, my end game plan is a DT11 (or DT12 if they're out by then) if I get good enough to justify the outlay. I've seen 690's with a 10 year warranty from GMK. I'm not sure if this is a sign of confidence in the build...

Thanks for the heads up. The wood does look good compared to other 690's I've seen but not anywhere as nice as the MK38 I'm looking at. Great price though.  :smile:
