I am a new shooter, I needed insurance so looked at cpsa and basc, didn't see the cpsa do anything to promote shooting/countryside but saw the basc do this so went with them.

You are right, I am not too bothered about scores/ratios, but I am on 3-1 for my pheasants without practicing with clear pigeons so am happy enough.

I had a gunfit and lesson up at Holland and Holland last week, 2 for 1 price deal, was a very very interesting session on the pattern plate and traps, came away with my measurements for future reference.
also happens to be a nice grounds.

I find no difference between practicing high clays with 28g 7s and blatting real pheasants with 6/32s, don't find the need to practice with game cartridges.

There were some 6/30's in the buckets at paddock wood today (not mine) have to say it's the first visit there for me, was suitably impressed with the setup.
