Shot probably more steel at clays than any other Brit. Mostly at the mighty Dornsberg in Germany with targets at serious distances  i shoot them with 5/8s choke and Gamebore dark storm 7s and notice absolutely zero difference and the scores stay the same

At 27 yards the standard size beads become bigger than a clay (visually) if you need to shoot straight at it and place the shot how would you do this and look at the clay ?    Shot placement is modern day shooting and this comes from barrel awareness / looking and seeing it 

Again a sport that cannot compare to shooting sports.    shot placement and the barrel are the key to modern day shooting  some birds you look directly at the bead and there is no clay 

I love this old quote it’s used all the time yet has zero relevance to shooting.   if u don’t look at or see the barrel you are fighting a losing battle  

Agree and that is knowing where your barrel is 

Also doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Anyone can have an opinion. I’d rather a novice barrels be safe than there finger 

Everyone has a way which they like. Watch all the best competitors and the finger will be on the trigger.

We had some great calls yesterday 

 No it’s was a result based choice, my father as he’s got older has changed barrel weight and length to mirror his loss on strength.    many can make it on preference and they would be making a bad choice
