Bizarre phone call from firearms team

When my mate and I bought our first 'new' guns, they were both Browning 425's with consecutive serial numbers. After some years, my mate emigrated so I took his gun and sold it for him. About 6 months later, having nobody to shoot with and being young and skint...I sold my one. Got a phonecall...

    yildiz

I have had mine for a year. 32 inch grade 5 adjustable. I refinished the stock when I got it (lockdown). I've added about 5 ounces of weight in the stock, to suit my balance preference. Very nicely finished inside. Nice case, cheap chokes. I love it, I shoot it well, got me into AA at club...

    Cylinder choke

No. Identical density, suggests identical material used to make the pellet. You can ignore pellet deformation, even though it is a factor. If the pellets have the same density, (same material) then the smaller pellet will have less mass, so will slow down more quickly, when fired at the same...

    Cylinder choke

↑↑This↑↑ Its the same reason a midi clay, launched at the same speed as a standard, will slow down more quickly and be affected by wind sooner.

The effect would be minimal. They are relatively small weights, so will only counteract a small portion of recoil. As BH said, a good gunfit is preferable, bit it doesn't change physics, just makes it more tolerable. If you want true recoil reduction, then you need something that will convert...

Stock finish on new silver pigeon 3

Yeah, took a while but looks nice. I only had the thing 3 hours before it was in bits and being sanded! This one had a few coats of Alkanet (red) oil first. Brings out the darker grain, before you oil it.

Stock finish on new silver pigeon 3

I wouldn't go for a walnut stain. Go for Alkanet oil to bring out any figure, then finishing oil. I have done several stocks with the Trade Secrets kit. You could also get some Slippery Dicks alkanet oil and 'stock oil', which will build to a nice sheen, or you can use his finishing oil for a...

Stock finish on new silver pigeon 3

If the oil just sits on the top, then it has been sealed. Are you trying to improve the finish or just maintain it?

Recommendation for shooting coach north / north west London

Hi there. Which North London ground was it? Do they not have a coach? Do you have a budget? https://www.edsolomons.com/ http://beckymckenzie.co.uk/ Both excellent, championship winning clay shooters and coaches. They also, both publish their prices, unlike some others.

    Yildiz Pro Black Sporter

Well the basic one is Beretta SP money, £1500, then a bit more for adjustable, a bit more for grade 4 wood and, a bit more for grade 5 which is special order, mine was £1900. So they aren't 'budget', but certainly are value for money. Won A class with mine yesterday 😁

Actually, there's nothing cheap about the way they are made, but they are cheaper copies. The fit and finish is excellent and the materials used are of high quality. If you want to buy a cheap gun, they do sell them, but they make good ones too. Eh?

    Yildiz Pro Black Sporter

You should probably give it the time to break in. Becoming a bit tighter when warm, suggests tighter tolerances, not poor machining. Have you greased it appropriately? I think 50 cartridges, is probably too few to break it in. What cartridges were you using, incidentally?  Had you thought...
