I'm going to work smart instead of working hard.
jay

that is a succint version of mine, its the only way mate. I have learned over the years its not how much you do but how much you charge to do it that counts, there endeth todays business strategy.

I hope to get in the white gold final shoot out,and (this will take some doing)get into the high eighties/low 90s at compak. After the game season i will be working on things that are missing from my game,in the past i only ever used swing through on everything and as a result i have a inconsistent way of shooting so maybe adding some different methods and learning when to best use them will help.

That was meant in reference to my shooting training, but quite right it's a good business strategy as it seems to work for the people I pay bills to !  :haha:

Oh I misunderstood mate. Thats a good shooting strategy hope it works for you no doubt we will bump into each next year if you are doing the ot or abt stuff.

I know where I want to be this time next year.

I plan to get there by practising, working hard each week, competing more, having further coaching, and most importantly of all...........continue lying to the wife about how much I spend on shooting  :spiteful: .

Jeeez Ed, its like being at work. You should demand a swot analysis and a 30 60 90 day plan per target type from all. By the way I have one ;-) . see you on the 14th Feb with my nominated weapon and plan for 2014.

Goals as per >here

The journey to get there involves the following:

- Planning a shooting budget for 2014 that includes cartridges, entry fees, travel, coaching and hotels where necessary.

- Sticking to aforementioned budget so that shooting is never a financial concern

- Getting used to the new 32" tubes which were delivered today with some non-registered, but good quality competitions like the Stratstone and the Hodnet Challenge

- Starting the year with two full days of intensive coaching.

- Option to add additional coaching sessions to focus on specifics if required.

- Shooting quality targets on a weekly basis in practice and on a registered basis once a month

- Getting out to new grounds and selected additional events (Seminole Cup 2014) for added experience.

- Practice, practice, practice.

Think that about covers it ;)

Goal....A class this time next year
Strategy.... Further lessons with Ed.
Working on specifics and new techniques.
Each Registered shoot has an individual goal not a number but a feeling of confidence.

Goal - to get shooters to enjoy what they are doing and dont moan if they have a bad day that it was too hard !!!!

How - send them all to messers Solomans and Winser to be taught how to shoot long crossers and battues !!!!! Hahahaha

I am really looking forward to 2014 running the white gold from end January , classic in June , gold cup 150 in sept and a couple of special announcements coming soon hopefully about a couple more events can't say too much ssshhhhh

2014 sporting goal......Mmm to get into B class! Can't win bugger all in A class they are all to bloody good thanks to you coaching them all!! Stop it Ed!...

I'm going to use 2014 to widen my horizons. shoot at a couple of big comps for the first time, get more coaching, and investigate ways to control my emotions when shooting.

And push for A class.

chicken curry no worry

That's more like it! Good work guys!

Steve you no me I'm no good on the big stuff ;-)

2014 into B class , 2015 into A class , 2016 into AA class then spend my winnings !! £800 ... :)

Formula must be, set your goal, be realistic, select your coach, again be selective, combine those two elements and you will definitely achieve your goals.

I would also include a few sessions with someone like Phil Coley, get your mental game right and the above will definitely be within your grasp...

C class now, but want try to make B class by end of year.

Shoot as many registered shoots at a variety of grounds as I can throughout the year.

Work on straightening stands that I can shoot.

Lessons with Ed to work on the stuff I can't shoot.

Phil Coleys DVD to work on mental skills for sporting. ( currently have the attention span of a nat)

Remember to enjoy it as much as possible because even on the bad days I shoot with a great bunch of lads who are good company.

Well i intend to miss fewer targets next year. I shall achieve this by simply hitting more of the buggers! But to be serious,i just intend to do my best and have a lot of fun doing it. If i end up shooting well, then i will be pleased, but i have promised myself that i will enjoy myself no matter how well or badly i shoot.

Goal - Scottish team

How to get there? Eh, shoot good enough scores in 5 of the team qualifiers and then a good score in the Scottish champs...how to do that?

Eh, cut out some of the inexperienced silly misses, could be worth 5+ per shoot, by not repeating the silly mistakes I made in 2013.

Be better prepared getting to shoots and not put myself under soooo much pressure to milk cows twice a day, morning and night on a shoot day!!!

More lessons with Ben H, first one in February, all going well at North Ayrshire...couple of spaces going, 2-1 with Ben for a full day, PM me if interested...

Practice harder, better and as much as possible...saving for a couple of traps to use at home on the farm, 250yds from my house, that way I can replicate targets I've struggled on and really work at them and practice what I want, when I want...

Other than that I haven't a bloody clue,
