28g in competition

Does anybody know if you can use 28g cartridges in competition for DT, as a C or D class shooter. I would presume the DT is consistent with OT but you never know !

If you can use them just need to decide if its worth it as I always shoot 24g, does the extra give a valuable advantage ?
