Are you meant to haggle when you buy a second hand gun?

Yes but you can have both.
Very true and when I bought my gun I was well aware the price was in the ballpark and given the service I received (in my opinion) I'd have been embarrassed to have then asked for a discount. As it happens I bought cartridges etc at the same time and was given a discount without asking. Proper service and  a decent price, Suffice to say I've not been anywhere else since.....

Neville's in Alfreton before you ask.....

I'll always ask, if you dont you wont get. But like Nic says it does depend on how much I want it as to how hard I push :)

New guns are heavily discounted from the RRP so I doubt there will be much leeway unless you have a very good relationship with your dealer, if you are exchanging a gun for a new gun then there may be room for a haggle, but only if you have something that is at the top of the models of guns that are regularly turned around on the gun rack. I can't see gettin much discount from trading in a Lanber or B325 for a New 682 Gold E that is heavily discounted from the RRP.

Always had fantastic service from these guys and as said offer a discount without even asking, I wouldn't buy a gun from anywhere else.

Haggle, barter or just be cheeky with an offer but as others don't offend as there will be something in the sale for them but doubt if it will be huge % of the guns asking price. Part exchange clouds the issue a bit so that needs a slightly different approach.

Have a look at various website Gun Trader Gun Star and all the usual shooting grounds and maybe print a couple off to take with you.

Have a chat look at a few guns either side of the price you want to pay and then have a sensible haggle whilst using fluffy rabbits to keep it amusing..

You may not get the gun price lowered as much as you want so mention added extra's, cleaning kit, gun sleeve etc....

Whatever you do keep it fun and be willing to walk away, as they will follow you if they want the sale...

From a car dealers' view point I respect an offer much more than "what's the least you would take"? because it shows no commitment.

At the end of the day it all depends on how much the retailer wants to sell it and how easy it is for them to replace that piece of stock.

Another big thumbs up from us at Nottingham GC for Neville's. We always refer people there. Helpful, knowledgable and a great service :)
