Hey guys, this is my first time writing a forum so bear with me.

I personally like to shoot skeet and I wouldn't call myself bad. Right now I shoot an old Beretta a390 which I love. It has never jammed, misfired, and whatnot. It will cycle with any shell at any level of dirtiness as well. I'm looking to take my game to another level and get into more competitions and what not. I'm look for a mid ranged o/u and I don't want to be like the rest of the pack. I'm really interested in the Beretta 692, but there just isn't much on it. All the videos on youtube are pretty much shot show and unveiling, nothing where they shoot it.  What do you guys have to say about the 692? Is it reliable, how does if feel, and just overall opinions?

I have held it in Cabelas once, but I wouldn't say thats the best way to see if a $4000+ gun feels good. There is a place near me that does let you go out with him and shoot it, test it out and what not. To me though that place is kinda a one on one where you go in ready to buy, so I don't want to just go in go with the guy to the range test it and then say "let me think about it."

So any input would be great guys, Thanks!!

Hi Joe  -  sadly I cannot offer an opinion as I have never owned or shot one.

But I can at least welcome you to the forum, and wish you luck with your shooting and finding the right gun.

Hi Joe

Last year I tried two 692s on two occations and found they shot well but no different to either my 686 or my 682, so I decided to give it a miss, I may try one when the second hand price comes down and all the new model teathing problems are sorted out.

Hope this helps.

Welcome to the forum.

I can't really comment on the 692, I have held one and to be brutally honest I did not like it. But I have not shot one and certainly wouldn't discount one on that basis.

Can't help wondering why you don't want to be "like the rest of the pack" I mean, what if the rest of the pack shoot guns that suit you the best?

The area and club that I shoot at, pretty much 1 in every 2 shooters uses a kreighoff (I most likely spelt it wrong) and I don't see why its so popular and the cheaper models don't look like they are worth $7000 plus. I have held many other guns as well as shot a few but I'm a beretta man at heart and I want to explore their options before any others.

Thanks for the input Mick, much appreciated!!

Hi Joe Joe  -  I currently shoot the Caesar Guerini Apex Sporter 32"

I am a big fan of Caesar Guerini, as you may have guessed from my forum name, and the Apex is without doubt the nicest looking and handling gun I have ever owned. And trust me, I have owned a good few, including the Kreighoffs and Perazzis.

And my wife currently shoots the Challenger Impact 30"

You get a lot of gun for your money. Gun choice though is very much a personal taste, but nevertheless IMHO the CG range is definitely worth a good look.

Hey Guerini Guy

Ya I had took a look at the Apex a few years ago and I really liked it so I requested some info from CG and they sent me a book and letter which was nice.

At that time though I wasn't able to afford it. Personally I like the Apex the most out of all the CGs. Hopefully when it gets warmer out I can test it and a few other guns and make a decision. Thanks for your input as well!
