Surely a recoil pad will just reduce felt recoil rather than actual recoil. The gun moves the same (due to physics) but the recoil reducer absorbs the shock rather than your shoulder.

I'm new so I probably don't have a clue anyway
Correct answer :D

Correct. :D

And the gun needs adjusting by GMK as its under warrantee and very common on Beretta's.

Thanks for the comments, gun is still under GMK warranty so I think I will take Mr Clevers advice and throw it back at them to get sorted.

Cheers Chris
I trust you bought it from a dealer supplied by GMK. There are dealers out there offering Berettas which are grey imports - i.e. they are supplied by GMK - and in the event of a problem GMK will tell you to sort it out yourself.

Grey imports are goods NOT supplied by GMK, but by shops that have obtained stock from dubious source.

But don't worry unduly, if you purchased from a reputable dealer it will be covered by warranty.

The actual fault is very likely to be a simple fix, able to be done by a competent gunsmith recognised by GMK, often while you wait by appointment involving about 45 minutes of time and a £7 spring.

Excuse me interjecting - I'm a simple perazzi user who has dealt with this problem several times. The inertia block has a return spring BEHIND it. No movement is permitted on firing, only on deceleration where the strength of the return spring for the inertia block inhibits the easy swing of the block. I expected light loads to need a bigger block but reducing the return spring is easier. A sudden deceleration works better than a gradual deceleration to overcome the spring so a compressive recoil reducer would affect it.

Yeah, I bought the gun from a kosher dealer. I sent of the warranty form when I bought it and was sent a reference number from GMK. Unfortunally I forgot to bring the number to work with me so will have to wait till tomorrow. Mind you I have the HSE at work tomorrow so all I can think of at the moment is risk assessment after risk assessment, what fun I'm having.

HSE, what a wonder of our time. Very easily dealt with. Do no work = No risk, apart from burns from the Kettle and Paper cuts, reduce those risks by getting someone to make the tea and read the paper to you. Risk assessment write up, job done. :D :D :D
