I was a bit wonky when I posted that in the early hours, was genuinely only messing around.

Going down the pub until the early hours then up shooting this morning wasn't the best move.

I've just got U2's top and bottom barrels which is around 3/8ths, one less thing to worry about as you say and I seem to get some fantastic breaks at range, I shot one target at Churchills which is 75 yards and I smashed it.

I have U1 and U2 - love these chokes.

Primarily I love what they've done for the balance of the gun, saves maybe 60g combined weight at the end and a noticeable improvement in balance, just puts the weight more between the hands.

I agree, the breaks are amazing - just smoking stuff a long way out, my plan was 2xU2, but having the U1 just means to mess about at skeet I can switch the U2 for a U0 and I'm good to go.

U1 is 1/4 so it's only 1/8 more open than the U2, so not amazing difference.

May still get another U2, purely for the 'forget about it' idea

Pete

Bought a pair of U1 for my Miroku ,they certainly break clays well, even longer stuff .Do you see much difference with the U2 ?

I started with a pair of U1, mainly for Skeet. When I started shooting more sporting, I moved to a U1 U2 combo. Then shortly after, a pair of U2.They will kill any target, that you would find at most sporting shoots.

I eventually moved to a pair of U3, which I shoot at everything except Skeet (use U2 for Skeet) and have full confidence, in even long targets.

I will probably get U4's later though...seems I'm addicted! :)

Had another go today, having fiddled with the weights again. I'm going lighter, having started with a fully weighted 9lb gun. I have now removed over 6oz and moved everything towards the action. I had a play at AC sporting targets today and was very happy with the results. Let see if Sunday works out. But it is great to be able to make this gun feel how so ever you wish.

You can! You can take pretty much any gun and make your Blaser feel alike. Every gun should have option weights and option butt pads.

This adjustable weight thing seems to be catching on.. My 682 is now just right but has 85g of lead strips stuck to the barrel under the Forearm. It works but looks untidy and I'm always aware it may come adrift at an inappropriate time. Aftermarket screw on weights as with some of these new guns would solve a lot of problems without having to buy a new gun.

The big wobble period I've been through, changing guns over the last few months would probably never have happened if I could have easily added some weights to the forend on my Perazzi. There is a real comfort knowing you can adjust a gun.

I am in the opinion that there are two main types of shooter, there is one that likes the feal of a wide action gun(beretta,k80)and then the other side would be the slimmer fealing guns like blaser, moruku ,browning, perazzi. There are loads of moruks and brownings with lead taped to the barrels, which would sugest the user thinks they are a bit whippy for them but with the blaser models you can make them handle how you want but they are never going to feel the same in the hand as something with a wider action. Then you have a great back up from blaser uk if a fault occurs.
